Advice from other sellers

I have been thinking about getting 'X ‘get verified’. Has anyone paid to be verified, if so has it increased your followers and most importantly increased sales.

I’m not sure that verifying will give you an increase in followers (it’s important to remember it’s not about the numbers, it’s about the quality of followers). I guess it might increase your visibility a little bit, but I have no idea how much or for how long and whether that would give you an increase in quality followers and ultimately sales.

I think it would give you more characters to use in posts? But it’s a lot of money to commit to every month and I honestly don’t know if it’s worth it to be honest. (It might be better to use that budget spend for FB advertising or something? Or to build up your own mailing list, which is then yours and not something Mr Musk has control over!)

I try to post on there a few times a week if I can, but I get hardly any traction even for my Folksy Friday posts. I tend to do it because I’ve been on there for a long time and it’s just habit!

Just watched a sort of podcast about how selling is changing. Whilst still money out there people are being selective what they buy. Hence videos are important. Also that Insta and Pinterest are now coming into, their own. More people are searching for what they want on Pinterest and buying on there, even if links to another platform such as Folksy. Interesting.

Sarah, thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my question. I think your right. However, I do get people viewing my posts and a few forward them on. It does give me an idea if my designs are being liked. I will continue as normal as you have just clarified my thoughts.

Hi Carol. That’s interesting. I have a few very regular baby knitwear buyers who found my work on pinterest. I see my work being posted on by them vie pinterest emails on a regular bases. Times are lean for most people. I have started to completely re vamp my shop by doing new photographs of my work now I have a better device in the hope to increase my jewellery sales.
