Liberty London is on the lookout for the next big talent, offering artists, creators and designers a chance to have their own unique artwork immortalised in iconic Liberty Fabric, simply by uploading a photo to Instagram using the hashtag #LibertyOpenCall
This year’s #LibertyOpenCall prize also puts the winners at the centre of the creative journey, including time spent developing the artwork alongside the Liberty London Design Team, as well as a trip to Liberty London’s fabric mill in Italy, where they will watch as the winning fabrics are printed.
With a heritage of art and design expertise stretching over 140 years, and an archive of over 45,000 original designs, Liberty London knows what makes a winning print. Once the judging panel have selected up to five winning entries, the chosen creations will take their place among a lineup of print icons, sold online and in-store, exclusively at Liberty, for Spring/Summer 2019 and become part of the eternal Liberty London archive.
Submissions across a wide range of artistic mediums are welcomed, with accepted methods including - but not limited to – digital drawing, illustration, patchwork, photography, oil paint, needlework and collage. It doesn’t have to feature florals either, so long as there’s a distinctive pattern, element of detail, and it’s a completely unique design.
So, if you’ve dreamed of seeing your work on rolls of Liberty Fabric, simply upload a new photo of your artwork to your public Instagram feed using the hashtag #LibertyOpenCall by 1 November 2018. Good luck!
WHO CAN ENTER
Liberty Open Call is open to artists of many mediums, accepting (but not limited to): digital drawing, oil paint, oil pastel, ink illustration, pencil illustration, mixed media, street art, photographic art, acrylic paint, charcoal, watercolour, collage, needlework and patchwork. Entrants must be over the age of 18.HOW IT WORKS
Entrants must upload a new photo of their design to Instagram using #LibertyOpenCall before 1 November 2018, when our judging panel will make a shortlist and ask the public to help them choose with an interest vote on libertylondon.com. Once voting closes on 30 November 2018, our panel will reveal their winners and invite them to develop their print alongside Liberty London’s Design Team, then to watch the fabric being created at Liberty London’s fabric mill in Italy.
