I like to think that due to all the promoting everyone has been doing that Folksy has become so popular that the servers just went into shock and took a little while to recover… ever the optimist
Sue, I love your thinking! I’m going to try to think of that if there are future outages
And now also getting it trying to get to my dashboard.
Already had a potential customer asking if it was down when I posted earlier.
This happens to me at least every other day although only when using Chrome. Doesn’t happen if using Edge. I find that clearing cookies helps fix the problem.

Like I said, ‘I find clearing cookies helps fix the problem’. I have no idea what causes the problem, I was just saying what fixed it for me.
It appears you DO know what causes it as you’re so adamant that it isn’t cookies, so I’d be interested to know what that is if you’d care to share.

It seems to be working ok for me, I’ve just accessed dashboard and shop with no problem, hope it stays that way! I’m using Firefox on a Mac desktop. It was ok on my tablet half an hour ago (am on desktop because I flattened the tablet battery )
Doesn’t seem to be a problem for me, on the PC - Firefox or Chrome. if it’s any consolation, I can view your items just fine, Joy.
If anyone does get error messages like Joy did then please email them to support along with details of which browser and operating system you are using. That way it can be properly logged as an issue and the tech people can see if it a particular browser/ OS combo that is causing the issue (and fix it).
I did message Urgent Folksy.
At the time I couldn’t click any listing, mine or others, over a period of about 15 minutes without the error code. I was trying to download some photos via my phone for an IG reel while having my hair coloured…(as they are not Avif on my phone !)
While i was trying to do this I had a message from someone else asking me if Folksy was down as they were having the same problem… That’s why I raised it here. rather obviously not me !
The problem went away (again rather obviously not me) but half an hour later it errored when i tried to get to my dashboard as well as the photo problem had returned.
The fact that others are not very politely responding to say they are fine means nothing. It means the problems which existed when i tried had gone away.
It was not my cache, my cookies. In the case of my devices it Never is, I am a teckie and a problem solver, I know what i am doing. I never have problems normally which is why when i get a probem i can be clear it is the system not me. As I did nothing to resolve the problems today this clearly indicates a problem with the system not with me.
Next time i will not bother to mention it
Thakns Helen. I can now. I just couldnt earlier when i was captive at the hairdressers being foiled and decided to grab some photos. I got them from my other shop instead.
Given we had major problems on the site last week when the system was totally unavailable for quite some time at this should be busy time of year…not surprising if i jump when a new problem appears…
Will someone at Folksy please take notice. There IS something wrong re the workings of the site. Again today… but this time I am on my laptop, not my phone and my phone cookies and cache are completely unrelated to my laptop !
Took a minute to get into my shop earlier and now just got this after a long delay trying to get to my dashboard.
And yes i did message urgent Folksy yesterday but had no response so will not bother today.
Please don’t tell me it is because of heavy traffic… at 12.45 on a mid month Thursday… hardly …
PS and again this time new
sellers which is the link i use on my laptop desktop
Half the time the Menu button does not work, then comes back. Means I can not list or see if any sales, the latter would be unusual, would have to have a party, lol
And now. 23.19 on a Thursday night when a lot of people, probably the majority, are in bed and not shopping on Folksy. Well I get a minute percentage of orders at this time of night and pretty sure that is the same for everyone…
Sorry I don’t believe that too many people are accessing the website at this moment or the other moments I retried.
And again but this time I’m on my laptop and no it is not a cookie / cache problem this time either.
404 error trying to get back to my Dashboard but if i go right out I get back in again. Then every time i move something to reorder it i get an error message to say it can’t do it but it does .
Getting really rather irritating… I use my laptop on all sorts of applications, hours at a time but it is only here on Folksy i am getting any problems.
I am concluding that it is cookie connected but not my laptop related as it clears if i go out of Folksy and back in again …
Has Folksy started dropping cookies all over the place to spy on what we are doing… . ??? because this frequent set of errors I am getting from both phone And entirely separate laptop are very odd and they are also new.
I am getting totally cheesed off with the way the Folksy system is messing me about and wasting a good part of my time.
Android Phone Windows 10 Laptop… 404 errors… one after the other… How am I supposed to maintain my shop ?
Please don’t tell me to clear my cache / cookies. Did that last time and half an hour later it started again. Had a report from someone else that they are getting an error too and can’t get in.
I have Zero problems with any other software / app I run from either my laptop or my phone.
I had the same yesterday could not access bad gateway. Trying to run a business here. Tried on Safari and Firefox both the same and have automatic clearance of history. Even cleared the history and still not working. Back okay now.
Yesterday I ran into the same problem I was either getting bad gateway, or too heavy traffic. I hope whatever is causing the problem is resolved soon before it starts affecting the Christmas rush.
I can conclusively say that the 404 error occurs when I am in Shopkeeping and hit the dashboard button. Every time!!!
So I close Folksy, go back in and get to my dashboard directly, not via Shopkeeping and it is ok. I have emailed support.
Wonder if anyone else cares to try that .probably only applies to big shops… …Move something about in shopkeeping then hit the Dashboard button. And this is at 00.43 so not exactly busy with customers shopping !!
Note I get this exact error on both my laptop Windows 10 / Chrome AND my Android phone.
@dougfolksy
Note also I have a big shop so.the shopkeeping function probably exceeds paging limits on the server when presented with all my active products in a single page.
Just tried shopkeeping on the iPad but could be because no one else about, will try later and on the iMac
