Good morning all, thanks for the list Ali @Craftyali1 there was a couple I wasn’t already following
Its pouring down here. Not much planned today as we have the grandchildren for a coupe of hours so Mammy can go visit her friend and have a cwtch of her new baby My granddaighter has already been on U-Tube and found us something to make
Good morning, I thought I was an early riser, but some of you haven’t gone to bed yet!
Here’s a listing for some landscape sketchbooks, hoping to list more later today with this thick paper.
Morning all and a happy Saturday to you. It’s a beautiful morning here in Kent but apparently we’re in for a few hours of high winds and rain at lunch time - probably just as all the June brides are getting married in the local village churches!
For anyone off on a picnic, here’s a travel cutlery set from me.
Thanks for all the bird love …
Miserable again here today - might have to be a TV day!!
Today’s listing will probably be the last new one for a while … I am going to concentrate on replacing what I sold over art weeks and then who knows, I have enough stock to last forever! Must be time for a bit of experimentation.
Anyway, my listing for today - inspired by my recent trip to Australia where we saw these little penguins
I’m with you on that one Brenda @teabreaks, it’s blinking freezing. I think it’ll be jumpers and hats on the naughty step today.
Urgh, Ali @Craftyali1, I find prompting my shop so difficult, social media is a complete mystery to me! I have FB and insta and have no idea what I’m doing especially FB! I do try and advertise on local FB groups for small businesses and have had a few sales that way but other than that I do very little advertising. I guess it’s something to work on.
I hope the party was better than you thought it would be Sarah @dotterypottery.
I’m having another craft room clear out so I’m sharing a listing for 70ish mixed felt leaves which someone might like for their crafting. I’ve just reduced them to 50p.
I have created a social media calendar template for myself as I am often stuck for ideas and I think [for me] if I plan ahead (which is what I have done for this Daily Listing Challenge so I know which product to promote each day) - even just one week’s worth of content, then I might not stress about it every day. Also, if you have business accounts (insta, facebook, etc.) you can schedule posts ahead. Important to note that I haven’t started this routine yet . This is in Excel format - happy to email it out if anyone wants to use and amend it for their own needs, for example you might have new items for sale more often that I do.
Morning all! A better morning here after a night of rain, and finally warm enough to try and get a bee inspection done, if the rain stays off long enough!
@WonkyTowersCrafts I obviously should have woken up earlier because I’m in Kent and it’s grey, windy, and just started raining
Re social media, I post on Instagram and get it to directly post on fb. I don’t really network on fb though as the only comments I get are from other small businesses who, lovely as they are for support my page, aren’t my customers. I have just over 7k followers and quite a good reach (I made over 3 million one time!) yet it’s still only same handful of people who ever interact.
I do really only post my items which I know isn’t ideal. I post WIP photos but what I really want to get into is videos of my actually making the items. I don’t have a great deal of natural light though so need to find a phone stand with light for shooting overhead. I’ve bought a few but they have all been returned as have proved not to be suitable.
I also post on twitter (X), although that’s not what it used to be since Musk took over. I use buffer to schedule posts on there then I just pop on every so often to retweet/interact.
I am enjoying the social media chit chat. I was completely new to FB and IG a few months ago. I have found IG more fun and I try and post one thing every day. Sometimes a make, sometimes WIP, sometimes just a nice photo of our day. Plans aren’t for me but I know they will be really useful for others.
I have experimented quite a lot with Canva making collages of photos and experimenting with reels of photo sequences. I have found it really easy to use and it does mix up my posts a bit.
Coincidentally as an experiment I have just shot a short video of one of my pieces which I am going to post on IG shortly. It is very simple and took about 5 mins and 3 goes to do. It will be great to have some feedback - good and bad- if anyone sees it.
Thanks for all the social media info @Craftyali1, it’s very helpful. I’ve tried to make a monthly plan before but been short of ideas so I will have a good look at yours. I have been completely neglecting instagram but that seems to be the focus for many.
I made big changes to the shop when I moved from the other side, removing all of my non-native stones and changing up my designs as well as renaming and rebranding. So I wanted to remove all of the old stones/designs/branding from my social media. I found it easier to add photos back in to facebook by adding galleries but I didn’t want to bombard instagram with millions of photos in one go. So I stuck my head in the sand and ignored instagram completely! I have posted very little lately as I find it quite stressful but when I do I post to both through the business suite.
@dotterypottery I hope you had a good time but I bet you were glad to get home. I always find these things are not as bad as I build them up to be.
What a bunch of party animals we are! I’m Asperger’s type autistic with a touch of ADHD and I find it really hard to concentrate on a conversation at any time, let alone with the distractions of a party. Also why I have so much social media anxiety. Even posting here was very difficult and alien to me to start with but I feel like I’m settling in and feel more confident about giving social media a proper go.
That’s really good Ali @Craftyali1 - could you email it to me? My email is rowleyjudy@gmail.com. Thanks! I’m not great at promoting myself and should try new things.
