So, do you ever get one of those days? When nothing goes right…
That song is constantly in my ear drum today. It started with forgetting the shopping list, then led onto climbing Mount Everest trying to conquer Canva and my first Folksy friday board. Could my stress levels get any higher? Well yes, because then war began with the overlocker
I swear they have a personality, and she heard my threats and wouldn’t play nice… consequently I’ve left her to sulk and partake in 15mins peace and quiet with a refreshing lemonade … okay rant over and yes, I do feel better for getting it off my chest ![]()
Frequently!
Most days ![]()
Last Sunday our boiler was dripping…man came out and said the pipe for the condensation was cracked and he would order another on.
Came the next day and fitted the new pipe…
The next day the hot water was cold…
man came back and tried all sorts to fix it…I knew we needed a new boiler so I told him to get one.
Next day the man fitted a new boiler…said it would take 4 hours…it took 8…
Next day all the upstairs radiators were hot..and the heating was OFF.
Man came back..more adjustments…
that night…carpet in the study was soaking…leaking water pipe…
Man came out, said we needed a new tap on the stop cock…put a bowl underneath it and said he would be back in the mornin with a new tap.
Next morning a new tap was fitted…all done.
In the aftenoon, the washing machine screen said " NO WATER…check supply"…man came back and spent two airs trying to push the air lock through.
so I know exactly how it feels to be stressed…
All those Men!! No wonder you were stressed!!!
That man was definitely having one of those days or should I say weeks as well ![]()
Hope it’s finally working and dried out
Oh, I hate to say it but what a disaster for you Brenda? I do hope everything is working and dried out . Had a leaky radiator once very early in the morning, by the time I discovered it, it had destroyed the bathroom floor and collapsed into the kitchen
…
The other week I went with my hubby to the local saw mill to get some wood panels for my latest project. When we got there at about 3.30 it was closed, hubby said I think they shut at 3 on a Monday, I said but today is Tuesday, he then said actually today is Wednesday….welcome to my world ![]()
Hi,
Yes, a lot…technology is normally one of the biggest things for me.
Yesterday in the middle of a home workout we had a power cut, when it came back on (about 10 mins later) I had to reconnect to our internet, then type in our log in code and then watch loads of ads (youtube)…my 30 min workout took more like an hour.
Later I tried to watch our TV and Sky wouldn’t work so I had to text my husband to ask what I had to do, which didn’t work and my son helped me when he got in, I felt so old and useless…![]()
If I want to do something quickly, like printing you can bet something goes wrong and I spend hours trying to get it done.
I think you have to just realise that it’s going to be one of those days and leave stuff, take a breath and go back later or another day.
Hope it improves for you…x
That’s the best thing to do..walk away and retry when you’re in a calmer state of mind… ![]()
You’re suffering from the Full Moon syndrome! Call me daft if you like but having had an horrendous 2 days and not realising it was a full moon time, then it was obvious. Scientifically unproven but that’s really not relevant, it’s very true. Working as customer-facing as I’ve always done, especially in the more troubled part of the population, their problems were always magnified, especially at the Disability Helpline, where some were already on the edge. It was a known fact – the queries were overwhelming.
So yesterday, Facebook decided to shut off my links – unless I pay AT LEAST $15 a month I can’t have more than 2 links per month. It’s going to affect everyone with a business page as it’s gradually being rolled out. To have what I had before yesterday would cost $149.99 a month!!! So there’s my advertising kaput. 2 big parcels were scheduled to come so I waited in – neither came. Went to the wool shop to NOT find the wool I wanted. The wifi was creeping along, the printer was working at a snail’s pace which is a real pain as there’s so much of the MS Publisher files that need printing out and/or converting and the cut-off deadline is a week away and I’ve still got loads to do! Though one parcel has now turned up, I think the other one has been lost. And I’ve found the wool I wanted is now discontinued and the one considered the nearest, according to google, also seems to be unavailable. Don’t think I’ll be starting my winter knitting any time soon. It was wading through treacle 2 days. Everything is working fine today - until October 24th-ish, just wait and see! ![]()
Yes! I agree I totally believe in the beautiful moon and the mood she brings. When it’s full moon or new moon I always wear my selenite necklace.
If you pay attention to the moon cycles and your own feelings it all falls into place ![]()
Full moon syndrome? I shall have to look into that, something I’ve never heard about before
and I’ll certainly bear it in mind ..
Silvana @SilvanaJewellery … Have you not heard that the moon…also known as “lunar” is where the word Lunatic comes from due to its affect on people…so it IS relevant…!!!
Yes I do know! But what I find surprising is that so many “scientifically” minded people think it’s a load of old cobbler’s and think I’m totally nuts for actually expressing this view which to me is perfectly logical! If you actually google it, the AI definition that pops so irritatingly, says - “the full moon does not cause strange human behavior or an increase in crime, accidents, or psychiatric hospital visits,” and that there has been extensive scientific research to prove it doesn’t have any effect on behaviour! I despair of these “facts” that are now out there.
And I have another one of those days..
time for a service on my sewing machine.. she’s being very temperamental, I think she’s trying to tell me something?
what will I do without her for a week? It always feels like I’ve lost something ![]()
