I tried to set up a FB shop but to cut a long story short it wouldn’t let me use checkout with FB because I live in England only US can do that. The alternative is to use messenger and/or whatsapp to checkout but then I found out that you still need an ecommerce to handle payments, so why would I bother with that. So my question is does FB charge you for having a shop when you don’t checkout with them.

You could use a shop button that links to your Folksy store. If you are looking to add tags on FB to shop, then the alternative is to set up a shop via a third party like Shopify. I personally have been trialling Square as they offer a free shop. This links to my FB page and Instagram and with a tag the person goes straight to my shop for the sale. You do have to go through security checks though. Could that be why you can’t checkout yet? It takes FB about three days to do all the security checks.

Do you mean a shop button on my FB profile or shop? I wanted to use Folksy as my checkout with links to it on my FB shop. Im trying to stay away from Shopify because of the fees being so high. I got accepted for a FB shop but you just can’t use checkout with them unless you live in the US. So do use Folksy for your checkout?

I have a catalogue set up on my FB which links back to Folksy for check out (and some how I’ve got it set up so that the FB catalogue automatically updates when I update Folksy). They (FB) don’t charge for this.
These are the instructions that I followed to set up the catalogue How to set up Instagram Shopping for your Folksy shop | Folksy Blog - ignore all the stuff about instagram they won’t (currently) allow us to have shops as we can’t verify the website.
