Help! I can't sign into my Folksy!

@dikeeblebeadsandjewellery it sound like you might be signing out of the forums, but not Folksy - can you see your username at the top of the Folksy front page? If so, could you please try clicking on that, then signing out, and signing back in again?

It’s ok now thanks, I switched the pc off and on again!

Updated info for anyone who has trouble with this later this evening!

There was also a related issue with resetting passwords (error when trying to set new password), but this should now be fixed.

Glad others are having problems too thought I was doing something wrong

I don’t seem to have had any problems logging in and out but I am having problems getting onto the forums. I have had to use google chrome as I can’t get on at all using firefox - is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

@sianfolksy is this linked to updates or just me?

@JuniperSpools It could be, yes. Have you tried making sure you’re logged out of both the forums and folksy.com on Firefox and then clearing your cookies?

@sianfolksy Good morning, are you still playing with the site? I keep getting an error message when I try and do anything.

I’m seeing the same thing. Bear with me, I’m reporting to Doug…

Thank you

Ok, that should be fixed!

I have just listed a new item and it went ok. Thank you for sorting it out so quickly

Sian @ sianfolksy I refuse to clear my cookies as this will effect not just the cookies for Folksy but for every thing else I use on the internet.

Please, please can admin sort this out properly

You really should clear your cookies and cache every now and then Eileen @EileensCraftStudio it’s good for your computer and helps keep malware down and stops those sites that track what you’re doing online.

I have a very excellent anti virus software, and a very strong firewall due to the fact DH happens to do be a IT specialist who specializes in protection, storage and retreaval/recovery. Clearing your cookies should never be relied on to ‘protect’ your computer.

They’d have to get past the ‘Fire Wall’ first to be able to infect my laptop with maleware or a keylogger programme.

If you are running anti virus software you shouldn’t get maleware to start with. If you are not running a good up to date anti virus software then your computer can become infected with maleware which in turn will then use your cookies.

You can just clear them for Folksy, you don’t have to do it for everything.

I will get hubbie to isolate and clear those just for Folksy when he’s got a spare moment if the issues continues.

I don’t like asking him to do his ‘Day Job’ when he’s taken time off to do building working on my house :frowning:

Ok looks like it’s working fine again now yah and didn’t have to do a thing. I just logged out then logged straight back in again. wooohoooo normal service has been resumed all by itself

does the happy dance

Hi Sian

I have cleared my cookies and logged out of Folksy but I can’t log out of the forum as I can’t get it to open at all with Firefox - it just says ‘No site configured at this address’.

Sorry, just seen you there! Have you tried clearing your cache on Firefox as well as your cookies?
