Hi, this is a question for sellers who also teach workshops and classes.
I’ve taught some workshops before, but they’ve always been for someone that either pays me a single fee, or at a venue where the sign-up and payment is handled by themselves.
I’m teaching a series of classes in the autumn, where I need to do my own sign-up and payment.
I need to sort out the sign-up process now, so that I can include details in the publicity.
Could you tell me how you handle these two things yourself? Do you use e-mail & paypal, or a specific app, or some other method?
Hi Liz - I’ve been teaching basketmaking workshops for quite a lot of years now - so email was not always as readily available - but where it was I would ask people to book via email and then give them my bank details so they could do a bank transfer. I would do the same with phone bookings. Mostly I would let people pay on the day - I can’t ever remember losing out this way. Nowadays I run a regular monthly workshop so some of the regular students have my bank details to pay and some pay on the day. I’ve just been speaking to potential new students at a market - they have taken a card with the workshop dates and I’ve simply told them to book as early as they can - I only have 6 students at a time - and that they can pay by bank transfer or on the day.
