Instagram hashtags

Has anyone else been restricted to 3 hashtags on Instagram or am I just one of the unlucky ones?

I love Instagram (or did) but since Covid I have lost my Facebook shop so can’t tag products on Instagram, they have gone from square pics to portrait and now I am restricted to 3 hashtags. Although you don’t seem to be able to follow hashtags any more and you cant look at ‘newest’ posts in hashtags just the most viewed, so some accounts get all the views. I noticed this first when I was doing the #marchmeetthemaker challenge.

I put it down to the fact that I won’t pay for ads or do reels (very rare) or ‘threads’. I just like looking at people’s pics and posting pics but it’s turning into another tik tok site (another one I won’t do!)

Hi, I think this is coming in for everyone - I was just reading something about it on Instagram. I think hashtags are less important than the words used in the caption now.

Mine have been restricted to 5 hashtags now. I posted about it on another thread this morning.
I need to do some reserach into how to maintain visibility.
Like Mel said, it is something to do with keywords in your captions now.

It is not fair that they haven’t warned people about this and they are restricting people to different amounts. It is getting more difficult to be seen these days and if you are not on social media interacting with people 24/7 (which I can’t and won’t do) you disappear from view.
