Is there a link between what people like and what sells?

Okay… I have just been looking through my shop and my sales, and have spotted a curious oddity. I have an item that has been ‘liked’ over 70 times, but has never sold. In contrast, my 3 best selling items have never been ‘liked’ at all, yet seem to rack up sales
So now I am curious as to what exactly is selling on Folksy? What is your best-selling item (post a link below) and why do you think it has done so well?

This is my recent sold item (well January)

The only reason this sold so quickly was because Folksy Admin shared it.
I can honestly say I don’t have any Best sellers, everything just appears to be ad hoc. I have numerous likes and views to most items but can’t work out why no sales. I think it would be good if folksy could provide some stats

It is weird what sells. I sold 3 of these within as many days in early February and no interest since - the likes are all from taking part in the daily listing challenge :grinning:

Thanks Natalie

I had, interestingly a day recently when someone had not actually ‘‘liked’’ anything actually on sale in my shop , but had gone back through my expired and already sold items list , to ‘’‘like’’ a whole heap of those which I found a bit strange TBH bu i have mentally registered those likes of course … lol

I do have a mixture of sales, Bears mostly bought by collectors but also as gifts, dolls mainly collectors and hand embroidery which is gifted, oh and the bear making kits which are more often bought as gifts (but not always). My biggest seller by far both on Folksy and off are my bears. Primarily I am a bear artist and the others items have been added the past 2 years.
I find I get the most likes when I list something new or promote but the likes are not always matched to the sales. Rarely do I see customers like the product before buying. A lot of the likes come from fellow Folksy sellers after promoting an item, although I do get a few from outsiders, my local customers never visit my shop and still contact me direct…habit I think.
