Monthly Art Chat : November

Fab journal Max, I love the layering - something I need to practise!

I’m off upstairs to do some more on the tryptich, I’m adding the sea this afternoon.

Waving to everyone, see you later!

Margaret I think you asked after my budgies and I didn’t reply…sorry - it’s been hectic here. They getting along really well now, although the hen still nips and pecks at the baby occasionally. He’s learning to stand up for himself, although more often than not he either runs away from her or every now and then falls off the perch (which is funny to watch but not very nice for him). They’re feeding each other, which is a sign of bonding

That’s really lovely Brenda, I love the way the colours are merging softly into each other in that.

Hi Brenda and Margaret, hope you’re having good days?

That’s very soft and atmospheric Brenda, beautifully done.

I’ve finally found time to list this one, it’s been waiting patiently for a week or so

And here’s an update on my triptych, clidk on the pic to read the whys and wherefores

waving Margaret and Stephie…I have done a larger painting today…still small at 9x9 box canvas…
Hubby is still unwell but has at last agreed for me to send for the doctor. I have to phone for a house visit tomorrow…he is really worrying me so I am very relieved that at last he will see the doctor. If I am missing you will all hopefully understand why.

Brenda I had no idea he was unwell, I hope you get a good night and the doc can fix him tomorrow

Sorry to hear about your Hubby @teabreaks, all the best with the doctor. Family illness is really horrible, we’ve had a really tough 3 months of it- thankfully everything is coming to an end now, and a positive end at that. Take care <3

I don’t visit this thread regularly enough, but it’s always interesting to see everything that pops up between visits. I’m loving seeing new artwork applied to jewellery- it’s such a tough job!

I’ve been so busy with making jewellery etc for fairs that I haven’t had time to draw!

Brenda I do hope the doctor will sort your husband out, my Dad is just like that. I won’t go to the doctor unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Stephie, I love that landscape, very beautiful especially the splattering. The triptych is coming along too. I’d find something that size way too daunting!

Hi Lowri!

Morning, hope the Dr’s visit helps out Brenda and your hubs is well again soon. Good news my Dad’s coming home today. Sadly I still can’t go see him with this chest infection wouldn’t want to risk passing anything on.

I just added a dicount code for Black Friday through to Cyber Monday 20% off with code BLACK20 at the checkout and a new listing

It’s good to hear your Dad is coming home Max. Shame you can’t see him but as you say you can’t risk passing anything on.

Hello Everyone

Hope your hubby is OK Brenda and your Dad is too Max - hope you feel better soon, and you have a good response to your offer. I’m not doing anything for the Black Friday thing, I have in the past but I’ve had my offers a few weeks ago. I am giving something a little extra in my orders this weekend but not a discount code this time.

I’m busy with Art In Wax & other stuff too, I’m hoping to be doing a mini fair next weekend in Suffolk so lots of packaging up etc to do …

Hope you all have a good weekend, my shop here is still very quiet but elsewhere Art In Wax is still hot lol I live in hope of the good ol days on folksy when you only had a post a picture and it was sold in minutes - fun times

Hazel

wow it’s quiet on here!

sorry not been around…waited ALL day for the doctor to come and didn’t want to be in the middle of messages when he arrived. In the end I had to phone again at 4.30 and rant over the non visit. He came at 6.30…anyone who wants details,(pm me) I will not put them online as hubby would be furious…but please send thoughts his way…at least it looks like he is being sorted…

Hello All

Just wanted to let you all know I may not be posting as much here at the moment or in the near future.

I “had” decided to leave the forum, but have changed my mind and will be stay but posting less, this morning I found out about the dreadful ads on our shop items, so its good to come on here and see whats going on, after all I have invested both money in the plus account and lots of my time in my shop, so I will not be giving up on that, well not until next summer when my listing account will expire. I will still be listing new items and promoting my shop as I always do but I will also be focusing in other areas.

Anyway I will still pop in here and post occassionally but not as much as I have, so I wish you all well and please lets keep in touch via facebook  www.facebook.com/artinwax

Hazel

Good morning everyone, hope you are all well today. I find myself not coming on here much either Hazel, I still do the daily listing thread as it’s part of my routine now, but find in general the forums are just not what they used to be, it’s very sad and I’m really peeved at the new pop up that’s appearing on listings, especially given that it takes our hard earned customers away from our own shops to gift guide full of other peoples work!

Will definitely keep in touch via FB and wish you luck in your future.

Brenda have sent you a message via FB.

I had 2 art sales yesterday from across the way both off to USA
just listed this one here

That’s good Max and Thank you I really don’t want to lose contact with my friends here

Hi Hazel, it’s sad that you’re not going to be around as much. For me it’s not just about the sales, it’s good to share tips and techniques on here too. I hope I’m managing to do that with my triptych - I know all the details are on fb rather than here, but I’m putting a link to it on here via the pics that I hope anyone who is interested can follow and read.

I’ve not been around so much the last few weeks, been too busy painting and…since my son went off to uni, my daughter has been taking full advantage of being the only child and is absorbing most of my spare time. I’m not complaining, I want to make the most of my time with her before she goes off to uni next year!

Hehe Margaret the triptych is actually a lot of fun and a real brain workout. So much for limited palettes…I’ve used at least 2/3rds of my acrylics (although I don’t have quite as many as Brenda, it still feels like a lot lol). I only have another week available to work on it - we’re going to pick son up from uni next Saturday so I have to have cleared out of his room by then. The plan is to have all the areas that cross all three paintings done so that I can then work on them singly for the finishing touches.

Max your poppies are gorgeous. I like the daily listing thread too, lots of chat on there.

My local art club Xmas exhibition starts on Monday so I’m framing for that tomorrow. I HATE framing, I’m so careful, I clean the glass, check it before I tape it, and then invariably end up with a speck of dust inside
