Good afternoon, waving everyone!
Stunning poppies Margaret, Iām in admiration of your patience. Iāve been looking at a plain blue linen dress that I wear a lot and am wondering whether to embroider some flowers on it. I could do one at a time until Iāve built up a garden Does embroidery wash well? I have some hankies that my granny embroidered and they seem fine but I donāt know if she used special threads.
The foreground in that one is stunning Hazel, well done!
Pam your cards are lovely, I especially like the simplicity of the holly. Whenever I try to make cards they always look like a 2 year old has been at work!
I had 15 minutes spare this morning while I waited for my daughter so I tried out the SAA practice paper. I wasnāt hugely impressed but may have been using the wrong side - I found the ink didnāt move as well as I would have liked so I had to adapt my technique. Iāll go take some photos and pop backā¦
If you use Anchor or DMC or any other well known brand of cottons they should be OK in the wash. I cross stitched a few things on some T shirts years ago and they got washed regularly and were fine. I used to use 'waste canvasā

to make sure my embroidery was even, then you wet the piece and pull the waste canvas threads away leaving your embroidery looking lovely and neat!

Stephie not sure about washing embroidery but I imagine hand washing is best, to prevent the stitching from catching.
Iāve just listed this fox brooch. Lots more to list but Iām suffering with pain in my left hand, so need to minimise typing. Have an appointment on Friday but the doctor suspects arthritis, The joys of getting older, although Iām not yet 50

I have three paintings ready to take to the post, probably tomorrow as Iām still not feeling 100% and its a fair walk. I have been lisitng on my website over the past couple of days and will in time be listing more of my paintings there, one sold within minutes yesterday so that was fun
