waving Stephie…I don’t go to the cinema much as hubby can’t fit into the seats…his legs are too long…lol…
Just listed this aceo…more glitter.
.
Beautiful work Brenda
I haven’t been to the cinema in over 30 years !!! Hubby and I would like to see the new film about Alan Turing so we might do it, although more often we wait to watch things on DVD … Alan Turing was a pioneer of computing and when hubby and I met we had both been studying the history of computing (OU) and we have said many times about going to visit Beletchley Park but things (life) keep getting in the way as it does lol
I have some things I want to update on my website today but hopefully get some painting time too …
My promo code was a success … I’m not doing as many offers nowadays but might fit one in for Christmas shopping in a couple of weeks times.
new listing in my shop to-day!!
Morning ladies.
I personally don’t DO promotions as I feel my prices are already rock bottom and also, with every sale, I always send another free gift. I suppose for some it is ok, especially those that have a high profit margin on their work and also where their work is quick to do…but not for me. I notice that the featured artist is asking very high prices for her artwork. She is a good artist and that is not a criticism but when I sometimes compare my asking prices to those who ask £95 (ok, so slightly larger than my 8x6 …but not MUCH) I feel that my pricing for that size of approx £25 is already a bargain. Im am always being told that I am too cheap…BUT I also know that if I put my prices Up, then I doubt if I will get any sales at all…so it is a decision that we each have to make…lots of small sales (pennies mount up) or wait maybe months for that one large sale…swings and roundabouts. I confess to gasping out loud when I saw how much the featured artist wanted for her work. Again, I stress that she is a brilliant artist but I wish I could state prices like that and GET it…
The whole issue of pricing is a minefield isn’t it !!
It sure is Brenda I think I’ll be waiting until the promo code can be selectively applied or I’m a lot less busy - I don’t want to sell my commissions for any less than full price because they are already too cheap for the amount of work that goes into them!
I tried out the other side of the SAA paper today, the very smooth one. It’s better for moving the paint around but doesn’t stand up to a lot of layers / water - I’m not a convert, I think I’ll stick to Bockingford.
Isn’t it funny how we all like different things Stephie…I just LOVE the new paper…I usually use Bockingford but I am converted to the new stuff…lol…
It would be a dull world if we all liked the same things
Absolutely! Your technique must suit it very well.
Here are the two sketches I did this morning, both from photos by Chris Allesbrook. I really like the results, just not the process.
Must dash now, catch you all later
lovely work everyone!
Hazel my sunset has arrived and is absolutely gorgeous! The card is lovely too, so pleased !
I have forgotten how to move images around in my shop.
Help! tried shop settings …shop keeping! where the devil is the arrange your shop button? Jeanie x
That’s great Margaret, soooo pleased you like I do like having these little events from time to time it’s fun isn’t it …
Shopkeeping is the right place you just move them up and down until you have them where you want them
Great Duck Stephie
Thank you Hazel x x
Just listed this 9x12" acrylic on canvas board…
.
That’s totally gorgeous Brenda!
thank you Margaret, I have listed it before (everywhere) but I live in hope of a sale. Being a larger one, I know that it is one that people would have to want on their wall, so it might take a while to find that special customer…As you know, I struggle with acrylics but I have such a lot of acrylic paint, that I really must make an effort to use some of it.
I might even try some acrylic aceos…how many of you have done acrylic aceos?
I know that some of you have done oil aceos, so there is no reason why I can’t try…is there?
Evening all, lovely work everyone, sorry work and home life is all a bit hectic at the moment, busy in work and Dad’s back in hospital, he’s got a chest infection again, hopefully it will respond to antibiotics quickly so he should only be in a few days, we’ve got everything crossed.
Also some good news I sold one of my paintings at the exhibition, well chuffed :).
well done on the sales hazel, I sold a few too, I agree with you there Steph on the selective, perhaps if you wanted to do say a one day offer, you could ‘hide’ the ones you wouldn’t want to give discount on.
not likely to be around much for a few days, hospital straight from work tomorrow then I’ve a jewellery party on Saturday and a vintage fair on Sunday, Monday the car’s back in the garage, thought it was too good to be true not having anything need doing at the MOT lol!
Brenda don’t think I have done any ACEO in acrylic, but no reason I can think of not to try
Brenda I think acrylic ACEOs would be great idea!
Good morning all …
Sounds like life is busy Max great news you sold at the exhibition - hope your Dad feels better soon
Not sure what I’m doing today. I have been painting Christmas cards the last couple of days but I think I’ve done enought now !! It’s fun but I’m not good at doing the same thing for long plus I have lots of ideas for new minis lol
Hope you all have a good Friday.
Hazel
