I saw a dummy clip made from beads…Caroline @Caroleecrafts that horrified me…in a baby’s mouth , beads down the throat…baby choked…awful…did the maker not even think about the dangers?

It’s frightening Brenda and by allowing people to sell them Joe public thinks they are safe to buy and let’s be honest some people don’t have a clue in the same way they expect toys for sale to be safe.

Hello! I have just put my first listing up today and I would love some advice if you would be kind enough to give it. I hope to learn and get better, and I do tend to overshare as my bio says. This is all new and I just don’t want to muck it up

Yes that might be a good idea, I tend to follow pictures if I can. Maybe I need to have the guide up the same time as doing listing, just so I make sure I’m doing it right!

You seem to have made a good start. Not fallen into any of the pitfalls other make.
You don’t say if it comes with or without the chain and if with how long it is.
Remember that the customer cannot pick it up and examine it the way they would in a shop so the only way they can see it if you describe it to them.
How do you post it ? What do you pack it in etc
Can I also suggest you do restrict your overshare a little. You are trying to attract customers and persuade them to part with their money. They are not, on here face to face, the same as you might chat to at a craft fair so it is better to emphasise your skill and professionalism rather than any inexperience.
Also on Folksy the only promotion is what you do yourself. You really need to use Social Media to get your shop known so if you have social media already add the links to your shop and start enthusing about your new shop. If you havent got any social media I suggest that you get some. xx

I left FB a couple of years ago, so things might have changed. It seems to take me an age to get to the point where I feel confident I’m doing it right! I like your directness, thank you.
