Good morning Lorraine @TheVelveteenCat. I hope you coped a lot better than I did yesterday. It was just too hot. It made moving around and breathing (a vital component to living I think) very difficult. I think that today is going to be just as bad too. Did carrying your fan around with you work?

Morning Pauline @CreationsforTinyTots - it definitely helped! I keep one on my mum constantly in this weather - she’ll be 95 in Oct - and feeding her ice cucumber water and choc ices. I might even drive her down to the Ashdown Forest later as she loves the Mr Whippy cones - van is usually parked up in the carpark. I hope you manage to have a more comfortable day - wet some socks, put them in the fridge for a bit and then get them on your feet for a few mins

Good morning Lorraine @TheVelveteenCat. When I was a child we would spend the weekend at my Gran and Grandad’s and Mr Whippy used to come round about 5 ish on Saturday and we would always have one from him. Also the Corona man came on Saturdays and we could chose a flavour drink each. Such lovely memories.

Morning Pauline @CreationsforTinyTots. Best ice cream - I don’t eat it much these days but if husband is having one, I’ll steal a lick! I used to go around with the two boys from next door when I was little, we did everything together, the games we imagined and played, it was great. Our dads would take turns to give us 25p each on a Friday and we would trot up to corner shop get a can of drink, crisps and a shoe lace or similar. I think that is why I still love Fridays - they always seem special to me.

Good morning Lorraine @TheVelveteenCat. It’s lovely the memories that come back from one simple thing like an ice cream. Some of my happiest Saturdays were spent sorting through my Gran’s button box. Putting them together in order of shape or size or pattern. Such a lovely happy time.
