Posting images that link to an item page

testing!

I can post a picture using the upload button and following instructions at top of page but if I just simply want to add a photo without the link to my shop by copying image location straight into reply box it doesnt work. I am sure it used to . Anybody else have problem.?

Just testingā€¦

Fingers crossed!!

Yay!! It workedā€¦ Thanks @sianfolksy1, very helpful instructions

Hi all

It looks like you can now simply post a link to your listing page on Folksy (e.g. http://folksy.com/items/2688554-Folksy-badges) and a preview of your item (image + description with clickable link) will automatically appear:

Hope that makes things easier!

Just testing, as for the past couple of days, although my photos initially appear on the thread, when I go back to have a look, they have disappeared - help!!!

Why are my photos disappearing?

@Sian, just wondered if you could help.

Iā€™m having trouble posting images on the threads. It seems to be an intermittent problem. Iā€™m currently using my laptop and I click the upload image and have tried both ways, i.e., just putting the item link into the box and the other way of putting copy url image in one box and then the item link in the other box. The picture initially shows up and I can see it, but when I revisit the thread it has disappeared and other users canā€™t see it either. Iā€™m getting really frustrated as I canā€™t seem to put my finger on why this is happening. Suggestions have already been made, but nothing is working. Can you help?

@system @system - any idea why this might be happening?

Yes, it looks like in this post for example the problem is here:

<p><a href="http://folksy.com/items/6083041-Pocket-tissue-holder-" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.folksy.com/aXRlbXMvMzM2NDI5LzIwMTQwNTA0LzE4NTIyNjY1OA-Q-Q-N/main" alt="" width="0" height="0"><span class="badge badge-notification clicks" title="7 clicks">7</span></a></p>

The issue is width=0 and height=0 ā€¦ any idea why that would be happening @EvilTrout or @system?

Unrelated, but important: I also noticed that folksy links were getting ā€œnofollowā€ so I added folksy.com to the exclude_rel_nofollow_domains so that wonā€™t happen any moreā€¦

Thanks Jeff, it looks like there was a space at the end of the listing title which was causing the problem*

Iā€™ve edited the title of the item (on the actual listing page), so the URL is now
http://folksy.com/items/6083041-Pocket-tissue-holder and not
http://folksy.com/items/6083041-Pocket-tissue-holder- (as it was previously)

I have then edited the forum post above, and re-uploaded the image.
That seems to have fixed it (fingers crossed).

*edit - perhaps not! (see below)
