# Printer help

Long story short, new pc set up, connected to 18month old printer, now prints in a horrid muddy way on copier paper.
I tried printing on gloss photo paper and it looks great, so Im thinking it could be the copier paper Im using. I can see the copier paper packet has only just been opened which matches up with it being the paper in the printer.
Has this ever happened to anybody? Could it be the paper, if so, which high street copier paper have you found to be the best?

Hi @PoisonedAppleJewellery,
I don’t think it’s the copier paper your using. I’m assuming that there’s nothing wrong with the heads needing a clean etc since you can print perfectly onto gloss photo paper. When printing onto the copier paper, have you change the paper type settings?

Ive cleaned the heads/nozzle etc. Ive tried the usual paper setting and a couple more(admittedly not all) so Il try the others before spending a small fortune on other paper reams.
I hope it gets sorted too, its awful not being able to get on with crafty projects.

Have you tried printing the test page to see if that comes out true?

Hi one and all.
The tests are odd, they just come out as odd lines, not a proper picture but they were like that pre the problem, I cant make head nor tail of how its supposed to help.
I tested the all paper types option, all rubbish.
I shall keep trying the maintenance options, maybe that will rejig things, plus a cartridge needs replacing soon, that may help(can you tell Im a very “switch it off and on again and hope for the best” kind of person).
Really hope I find an answer soon, its so awful with little things getting in the way of work. I never thought Id miss the printer so much.

Maybe try changing your cartridge @PoisonedAppleJewellery, it may even be worth changing any other cartridges that are at a lowish level (if there are any) and then clean the heads again. x

If your not all asleep with boredom, Il just let you know that magenta was replaced, no change. I fell it may be tge black as shade on white things are a lot blacker than the original. Really grasping at straws here.
