Hi you lovely lot.
I’ve talked about destashing my supplies for the past couple of years and finally getting around to it. I’ve started sorting, mounting, bagging up etc for some slow stitched kits and haberdashery kits perhaps. I literally have thousands of pounds sat on my shelves in craft supplies that I’ve bought for Bearlescent over the past 11 years then never used or have just bought excessive amounts of everything.
I wanted to ask those of you who sell supplies or kits made from them do you do well with them on here and is it worthwhile opening a second shop.
I’m a bit concerned about having too many different things in my Bearlescent shop and wonder whether it would look more professional if they were kept seperate but realised today it has to be worthwhile as it would incur an extra annual Folksy plus fee to open a second one.
Or do you think it matters ? Would you just put them at the end of the one shop.
Over the years I’ve taken things out of my shop because they don’t go with the bears and have wondered whether to remove the last few pin cushions for the same reason. I often wonder whether those shops that specialise in one area still do better than those with mixed listings (I remember a discussions when i first started and at that time a shop with a niche product seemed to sell more than those with lots of different products) but does it matter as much if you are an established seller. Thank you
I am very mixed Debby and does not affect what I sell. Currently started a craft supplies section both handmade toppers and supplies.
You have a gap at the end of your collections. Perfect for a supplies collection and will fill the line nicely.
.
Thank you @Caroleecrafts and @JOYSofGLASS
good to hear it hasn’t made any difference to yours Caroline although yours do fit with what you already sell. It does make sense the more I think about it to at least try them in my shop first before laying out anymore money on another and it would fill that gap Joy.
You never know they might be super popular and make opening another shop worthwhile
.
Not only the money Debby but you would be starting from scratch again. Plus with your beautiful bears you may get more sales even if small items.
If you go to Liberty, you do not get one item. Yours including your pin cushions are you and cohesive. Plus selling supplies seeing your creations will be a trysted seller.
Ah thank you Caroline, that all makes sense, I will add them go my shop when I get them finished.
