It sounds as though you really enjoyed it!
Quite some time ago I went to college to study A level Art, English and Theatre but unfortunately got off at the wrong site and got stuck on a Performing Arts course for 2 years!
I wasn’t found out till later on, but the head of drama said I may as well stay 
I always loved the theatre, working with the costumes and sometimes acting, but I always enjoyed singing.
Later on I joined a few am-dram groups here and there, even went on tour around primary schools in the UK performing Aladdin!
Since I initially wanted to study Art, I feel I have kind of gone around in a circle with things, and I still have a lot to learn where that is concerned but putting some things on Folksy has been a great way to boost my confidence and connect with people!
I do love it here x

Brilliant painting Chris… @ChrisStoneArtist …I am hopeless at still life, buildings etc…it has to move for me ha ha.
@ArtilyEverCrafter that sounds quite similar to me. I wanted to be an art teacher but you needed Maths O level back then and there was NO chance of that …lol… so I just went along with a boring office job and then talked my way into teaching arts and crafts at Adult education centres in London…(gift of the gab)… then drifted into craft fairs and making and selling…and here I am now, still making and selling…

A new listing for today.
I like listening to the radio or music when I create. Although I do find I’ve often zoned out from it once I get into the flow of what I’m making. I definitely don’t have a singing voice to accompany my creating! Like many of you I tend to have quiet when writing a listing or comment to keep on task. I get a lot of my inspiration from the surrounding countryside or places I’ve visited, so a walk is always a good way to trigger some ideas. Good to hear everyone’s different creative ways.

I also wanted to teach and needed Maths, but after resitting it 3 times I still didn’t get it!
A lot of where I have gotten to seems to have been fate, without much real thought on my part, but your life sounds very interesting!
I don’t know if you mentioned it before, but did you study art or are you self taught?
I did a few short courses but am really self taught and I’m actually more interested in getting into illustration.
My partner is working on an adventure book where you roll a dice and flick through to certain passages and make choices about your journey. It is set in a haunted house and I have created a few illustrations to help the adventurer on his/her path.
I just wanted to add something to this thread, but don’t think I will put them in the shop as they won’t really go with anything else, but an opinion or two would be welcome

I am self taught…I am a rebel…if someone told me to paint trees, I would paint dogs,…if they want me to paint dogs, I would paint cats…
I remember going to a pottery class and being told that I had to make a coil pot. I told the teacher I wanted to make a fairy house. She told me that she was the teacher, so I reminded her that I was paying her wages…I made a fairy house…ha ha…
I bought a lot of art books and videos and the first ones were Frank Clarke and the Bob Ross…and I learnt from there really…xxx

@teabreaks Thanks Brenda, the book is called; The Ghosts of Craven Manor and it is pretty good fun. My partner and I love adventure books, would probably be playing dungeons & dragons if I knew how!
I remember my art teacher in high school never really cared for my variations on work she set, particularly when the class had to draw portraits and mine was of her, needless to say she didn’t care for me much after that and decided that I would never be able to draw! I definitely prefer working at my own pace now though x

Hi it’s the end of the day, better late than never, I’m showing my first ever fluid Acrylic painting, I was pleased that it turned out ok, have any of you tried fluid flow painting, it’s a messy job buy enjoyable, I’m going to try another soon and see if I ca create one with interesting cells, enjoy your evening

Love your illustration @ArtilyEverCrafter, I think it works as a bit of standalone gothic still life. It could be a still from an eighties “Visage” video.
