Stats for August 2019

Quiet over August think everyone was on holiday. Did sell 7 items though so quite happy.

Sold 25. That is a better %age sales to views as normally reckon nearer 1%.

Nice to see my rebuilt website helping out and my frequent posts on Pinterest and Instagram too.

Not sure quite what we can tell from these figures alone (I have to add them up in my head, for one thing, and certainly can’t do pie charts in my head to be able to compare proportions). Is it actually sensible to compare shops in this way?

For sure, it’s useful to monitor how your own figures move. You could graph them month by month, and compare years. That is what the old stats graph does, which I find useful (https://folksy.com/stats) (NB remember the final point is never correct until the last day of the month. Because it’s 1st today, it pings back down to zero - don’t panic…)

Do the shops with lots of views, also have lots of items in? Would it be more meaningful for us to compare our total views per item? (Mine is about 12, and has steadily increased from 6 when I started 3+ years ago, as I improve my listings, photos and marketing.)

I monitor my views per impression as well, as an indicator of how ‘enticing’ my photos are. This hovers between 1.1 and 1.5 generally, and I would find it very interesting to know how this compares with other shops.

I’d really like the stats page to show me the items with the lowest Views/impression ratio, as those are the ones I need to concentrate on.

I would like it to add the figures up. Not easy especially when they are not lined up
I rarely check them but did with this reminder as interested to see if my new website is working to bring in views.

The figures at face value aren’t that useful (but they are fun to look at). I tend to probe Google analytics, particularly when I have a sale. Of my recent sales, the majority seem to have come through Facebook or Instagram. The direct Folksy ones have coincided with evening relists, which suggests I’m getting pretty good value from my Folksy Plus account. Six sales in August, but mainly higher value items, so I’m happy with the direction of travel on Folksy at the moment.

I’m not really using this thread to compare my own stats to other shops, but it’s a good reminder to record my stats and then I can compare them to my previous months.

I’ve had 5 sales this month which is a definite improvement on July’s 0. Most of my stats are up but my social media ones are down… I’ve barely posted this month because I’m busy working on a friend’s birthday present (it’s taking a lot of time) and obviously I can’t post about that until she has it, so I’m going to have to make more of an effort to find things to post. Especially as my forum stats will be down next month as I’m not doing the daily listing thread… be interesting to see if that makes a difference to the rest of the stats.

Slight improvement on stats from last month for me, especially considering I was away fro a week, a couple of sales too which is consistent as well. I’m not a high fligher but pleased that year on year this is proving better for me than E.
