Happy Thinking Day to all, Rachel

Happy Thinking Day - haven’t been to a Thinking Day service since I finished being a Guider - miss those days.

I dont think you ever really stop being a Guide, my granddaughters are brownies and guides and my daughter is a guider. I am just an occasional helper now doing workshops with them Rachel

Thinking Day is when Members of the Scouts and Guides all get together to celebrate the movement throughout the world, a sort of Founder’s Day.

My little Brownie is just about to go off for her Thinking Day meeting. Been a long time since I was a Brownie!

Thank you Sara. It’s been a very long time since I have had any contact with Guides or Scouts. As a young girl I was part of an organisation called Canadian Girls in Training (CGIT) which was or is very similar to Girl Guides . My Dad figured out it was a religious group (not ours) and made me quit. I never found out what we were being trained for but I have an idea,

Kind regards,
Leslie

Lizzie, thank you for the citation. I guess my mind isn’t as cloudy as I thought. Given the fact that I am Jewish I can understand my Dad’s angst at the time. I wonder if they are still recruiting?

Kind regards,
Leslie

When I was a Brownie we used to wear our uniforms to school on Thinking Day.

I remember doing that too

And saints’ days too, I have just remembered!
