Thanks Pam and Hazel. I might reframe it at some point if I find a frame that’s not quite so big. There’s a grubby mark down the left hand side of the canvas and I was hoping for a frame that would cover it up!lol
At least it’s on the wall being enjoyed rather than stuffed in some drawer, so money well spent I reckon
Wow Margaret, your cross stitch looks amazing and I didn’t realise how big it was…fantastic…well done
Pam, Beautiful painting…wish I could do buildings as well as you.
Well done to everyone else…rushing around …time to go and get fish and chips…
Here is my one for today
.
Beautiful work everyone! I especially love Hazel’s wax on dark mountboard and Pam’s ACEO.
Margaret your poppies look great in that frame. it’s good to see them on the wall.
I’ve been back at the library this afternoon with DD and had a very productive time - I found a book of gardens of the world and used it to create 4 fictional gardens, with bits and pieces inspired by various photos. One Japanese, one German, one English and one North American, all using my sepia pen. I’ll take some photos tomorrow.
I’m having tremendous difficulty logging in from my phone, I just get a blank screen with the folksy logo at the top. I tried several times whilst I was at the library to drop in for a chat.
Afternoon all, waving hi. Wow Margaret that looks fab and like Brenda I didn’t realise how big it was either! Lol with the guess I think actually you mentioned you had a tiger cross stitch:). My back is killing me I’ve mowed the back lawn which was so long I had to strim it first and then I dug myself a little patch for wild flowers, and scattered some seed, fingers crossed that our resident robin doesnt eat all the seed!.
Beautiful flower Hazel, really lovely effect.
Loving the landscapes Pam and Brenda both very serene and restful.
I just had a minor disaster too sold the charcoal this morning and just knocked the tin off the table and broke several nibs! Oh dear
I’ve been having trouble since the forum was opened up to everyone. It was OK the first week - very slow but manageable. Now it just won’t work at all.
Anyone interested in art history? This is a good resource, contains a variety of free art books in PDF format. I think they are publications produced for the Paul Getty museum, but you don’t need to have been and seen to appreciate the books.
Stephie, there was a mount with it but that was grubby too. Maybe
the simplest thing would be to clean it but I’m a bit scared of damaging it. I’d never find another mount that’s the right size and anyway it’s possibly just a temporary measure till I find a smaller frame.
I’ve given up trying to use the new forum on my phone it’s so slow now
It’s unusable
Margaret, Mount solutions on the auction site will cut mounts to your sizes and their prices are reasonable and free postage.
Stephie thanks for the link.
Got more work to do on the market scene paintings.
