Happy new month!! Here is my last mug cosy, now added to my collection of cosiesā€¦

Hi, Iā€™m hoping someone can give me some advice on curtain adjustments?!

I have found a set of curtains which are beautiful and i LOVE them however they are not the right size.

I have not touched a sewing machine for around 15 years and donā€™t know the first thing about turning up curtains, what would you suggest i do?! Attemp to turn them up myself? Contact companies which offer alerations? (this may now be difficult due to current circumstances).

The size of the curtains are:

168cm W and 183m D

The size of my window is approximately:

140cm W and 125cm D

I understand this is quite a difference and may be difficult to adjustā€¦

I really should have measured my windows prior to looking!

Thanks in advance

Sophie

Hello
Iā€™m new to Folksy and trying to find my way around. I did try a few years back but I didnā€™t put any effort in at that time. Iā€™m now moving over from Etsy as I feel the American site has changed some what and not friendly to British makers. Iā€™ve already found the import service superb with a friendly approachable team here at Folksy and just found this forum so looking forward to joining in.
Thanks Jacqui

Hi everyone,

Iā€™m Paul from Invitation 2 Print in Sussex. I only launched on Folksy this week and have just found the forums today.

I specialise in hot foil printing - adding a metallic foiled finish to prints and various other goods such as pencils, cards and keyrings. Iā€™ve added my wall art to Folksy so far but will probably add my wedding stationery soon.

Take care & keep safe

@Soshidario I think the width should work for your window ok. You could put them up and pin the length you like. Take a seam of approximately 4inches and turn it in another 4inches. Also YouTube may have videos to help you. Look at another curtain you have and see how they made it. It should be a ā€œsimpleā€ job, just straight stitching by hand or machine. Try to be generous when cutting the curtain, so you are not making it too short.
Good luck!

Hi just joined today on recommendation by Samfire Cards. Posted the first item https://folksy.com/shops/forkemporium

Hey team!!

I joined Folksy today, I am a printmaker from wales and i mostly specialise in humorous lino print. I have been working as an artist for most of my life and recently embarked on selling linocut print illustrations, they are mostly inspired by the stuff i like to do (surfing, swimming, being ridiculous). I do have an instagram account which has been my primary selling platform this year, i hope to connect with you guys and i shall be updating my shop daily with all of my designs.

Hello!

Iā€™m thrilled to have just joined Folksy and posted my first two items (it took me ages but now I understand the format it should get easier).

Iā€™m an artist specialising in collage paintings - I paint and draw in lots of different colours, textures and media, then tear the results up and reconstruct the fragments into something else. I havenā€™t really made an effort to sell online before, but with all the galleries closed and shows cancelled  I thought it was worth a go.

Thereā€™s a lot to learn but Iā€™m looking forward to it :grinning:

Hello Folksy community,

I have just reopened my shop @LikeAJourney after a period during which I wasnā€™t able to invest in it for various reasons.

I specialise in felted wool items that are generally useful and that I try to make beautiful as well following a quote by William Morris that means much to me (ā€œOnly have in your house what you know to be useful or believe to be beautifulā€).

Iā€™ve made a special collection of felted soaps with a rainbow theme which is a nice gift to show gratitude. I aim to donate the proceeds of these soaps to the UK charity Born Free which fights against wildlife trafficking.

I am still finding my way to socialise with these online tools but am learning! Thanks for visiting my shop and to provide feedback as I am building my Folksy presence :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello folks! Iā€™m Lynne and Iā€™m always Lost in Paint. Iā€™m based in Pelsall, Walsall. Anyone nearby? :slightly_smiling_face:
