Hello, Iā€™ve recently opened a shop with Folksy where I am planning on selling hand painted and decoupaged items. I have started with listing some coasters that I recently created and hoping to list more things in the very near future.
I am absolutely hopeless with computers so any obvious mistakes please give me a shout.

Love Sally

Hi there
Iā€™m new to the forum and to folksy. Iā€™ve been running a pet sitting business since 2014 and covid killed it overnight. So I decided to learn to draw during lockdown in May. I had only been able to manage the usual stick figures and what not, but I decided to have a few online graphite art lessons.

It transpired that I could draw and I love graphite. Taught myself how to use watercolour and based on my first painting recently, I got 5 commissions.

So thatā€™s where I am. Still all really new but Iā€™m loving it. Iā€™m going the pet portrait commissions and have started ink and watercolour illustrative stuff and have sold 9 cards this week so we shall see where it takes me!

Everything is pet or animal related in some way as thatā€™s all I do/think about :grin:

I have some new products.im the pipeline based on illustrative pet portraits so just waiting for my supplies to arrive to test them out. Hope to be able to do some pet portrait coasters, glasses, and hanging decorations. We shall see if my test pieces work!!

Hi everyone

Iā€™ve been on Folksy for a while now and been making candles for over 20 years, but havenā€™t introduced myself here - I make organic beeswax and scented soy wax candles, and a few essential oil scented paraffin wax blend candles too. I make all my candles, by hand, in my small workshop near Aberystwyth in mid Wales.

My beeswax candles are my best selling range - bears, bee hives, spheres and other shapes. My most popular candles are 20hr and 40hr organic beeswax pillar candles.

My scented soy wax candles are available in a large range of scents which is growing all the time. Unfortunately, scratch and sniff technology isnā€™t here yet on your phone or computer, so smelling these is a bit difficult.

Enjoy browsing my Folksy shop, any questions please ask!

Hi everyone  Iā€™ve had a Folksy shop for a few months and lurked on here a few times! Iā€™m Sue and I run Sally Saucer Handmade selling crocheted items (I hope to add some papercraft in the future). Iā€™m hoping to get some tips from the forum. Iā€™ve sold a few things on here and had a couple of commissions but itā€™s been very quiet over the last month. I look forward to reading everyoneā€™s posts and getting to know some of you. Best wishes Sue.

Hi Everyone! :grinning:

Hope youā€™re all well! I have just opened a Folksy shop this week, moved across from another UK marketplace platform. So, Iā€™m Paul, based in the Malverns. I have played around with photography for years as a hobby, but three years ago decided to try the craft fair world selling notecards showcasing some of my favourite pictures. More recently, Iā€™ve also added collections onlineā€¦and here I am on Folksy. :slightly_smiling_face:
So please take a moment to check out the shop - still in the making. Feedback welcome.

Facebook is now linked to, just waiting for Instagram to approve, so hopefully two more links to the shop!

Looking through the different shops on here, there is so much great talent! Also wish you success in your shops too.

Have a great day

Hi, Iā€™m James and Iā€™m new here! I opened The WayBackShack store here last week and am just bedding myself in. Iā€™ve spent this week adding products to the shop and getting used to the way I need to do things.

Iā€™m disappointed that I havenā€™t managed to sell anything yet, but I suppose it takes time to get noticed.

I sell printables on my store - Iā€™ve got a business page on fb, pinterest and instagram but havenā€™t really done too much on those yet, as Iā€™ve been trying to create and add items on here this week.

Itā€™s all go!

Hi Everyone, I am Jacqui. I am not exactly new here, but I have been away, using other platforms for a while now.
So far I have only listed a few items in my shop, but I will keep adding to them in the future.
I am still trying to find my way around on here at the moment, but hopefully I will be able to join in with all the chat in the forum.
Jacqui.

Hi yā€™all

Iā€™m Bridget, and Iā€™m a feltmaker, specialising in hats, (although I make lots of other accessories too). Iā€™ve been felting for years, but hadnā€™t really explored selling online, preferring to sell face to face. Oh dear ā€¦ you can fill in the rest!

So, I bought a decent phone camera, read a load of how to, and joined Folksy a few weeks ago. Iā€™m still uploading my stock, but getting thereā€¦

Welcome Bridget, I know you in real life from the k&s shows and I know how brilliantly you do, you may find it slower here but itā€™s here all the time and not as exhausting  I see youā€™ve made a good number of sales already. Good luck

aha I thought that was you ā€¦ yuliaā€™s friend ā€¦ Iā€™ve been salivating over your work!
I donā€™t really know what to expect from Folksy - been pleasantly surprised so far. Bridget x

Hi Everyone,

Iā€™m Annie from PoppyDarling and found my way to Folksy this week- still finding my way around (though listed a few pieces)
Iā€™m not a fan of social media, but would like to explore the Folksy forum and hear from fellow community members on their experience- open to any hints or tips! :+1:

Iā€™m a bit late to the party but loving Folksy already! So much talent on the site-feels like it could be a positive space for British crafts and creativesā€™ :crossed_fingers:

Stay safe everyone!

Yes, thatā€™s me
The forums here are friendly and helpful, you would do well joining the daily listing challenge. And maybe setting up an Instagram account for your shop. Itā€™s different to shows but can be equally rewarding.

Thanks Sue - good advice. Iā€™ve started an Instagram, but not done much with it yet. Both on my to do list! Iā€™m part of a virtual wool show next weekend - Yarndale@home. Once thatā€™s done I can concentrate! Bx

Hello! Iā€™ve been around Folksy for some time because I love the site and the community. I make notebooks and I also enjoy sewing so I decided to branch out. Cheers!
