What do you do when your storage supplies vanish?

I am in panic mode.
Been to Poundstretcher Uttoxeter to pick up more of my square lidded storage boxes for my glass and they have NONE.
None at Stafford either and awaiting call back to Cannock where stock shows 48 (packs of 3 ) but none on shelf. Not hopeful !

These are from China but they used to come from Italy and then called McFresh.
I’ve been buying / using them for years ! They are super strong for postage, see through and airtight for storage and a nice bigger square shape for the suncatchers which don’t fit my normal rectangular takeaway boxes.

An email to Poundstretcher in August (when I heard rumours they were collapsing) wondering if I could buy a box full said curtly, after a wait of 2 weeks, “none in the warehouse”… was worried then, even more so now !

Found some of the McFresh Italian ones on Amazon but ‘not available and don’t know when they will be’.
Found some on Ebay but they’re going to cost me £1.04 each instead of the 43p of late …ouch.

Please keep your fingers crossed that Nav at Poundstretcher Cannock will find some otherwise I’ll have to get the expensive ones from Italy and don’t know what my despatch clerk will say about that !

Do you have a B&M near you @JOYSofGLASS ? They seem to sell lots of that sort of thing.

Yes I do, next door to Poundstretcher, also a Poundshop. None of these, only the common rectangular ones I now buy 250 a time from Ebay. Thanks, good idea but no go.

Joy, I’m going shopping in Manchester in a minute, I’ll see if they have any there x

Natalie You are a star

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I could only see the blooming rectangle ones :slightly_frowning_face: Looked in a few pound places too. I could kick myself though as I went to wilko to get a load of stuff but forgot to look there. My heavy shopping bags were distracting me! There’s a pounstretcher I sometimes go to, so will have a look next time I’m there, there’s a Home Bargains next to it too.

So sorry again xxx

P.s Did you see the Saving Pounstretcher programme in the summer? Apparently the shops can’t choose what they want to stock, they just get random things delivered in bulk from the warehouse, so you might still get lucky one day.

Natalie you are so kind. I hope your arms are still attached to your shoulders.
The lovely Lady from Poundstretcher Cannock has recently called me back to say she has located 24 of the 3xtub packs so we’re going to get them tomorrow. Nice drive with this gorgeous autumnal weather and in the meantime if she can find the other 24 she’ll save them for me too
After that, when they’re gone I suspect I will have to go EBay / Italian and increase the price of everything which needs this size, shape of box by 50p.

PS I do have a small consolation just packed an order for the post tomorrow and inside the box are 3 of my scarce tubs…I’d forgotten that I also use them for my dichroic fused dishes. Best ever postal packaging for fused glass !

Natalie Meant to add that Wilko doesn’t have them, only the rectangular ones.
But thank you thank you thank you so much for trying.

As well as thanking Natalie for her amazing kindness in trying to find my elusive boxes for me…
I have news of more following an appeal I put on my Facebook page thinking my 2k+ reach might get to where it needed to go.

I had a fantastic Australian bucket hat, reversible, soft, squash into my handbag style which I bought in Cairns in 2012 and lost in July when out with my grandkids. I posted photos and a description and a customer said she had a friend in Oz and she would ask her.
Today that friend has sent me photos of the hat she has bought for me and it looks blooming perfect.

I am over the moon and so incredibly pleased at the kindness of ‘strangers’.

Ahh you’re very welcome Joy :kissing_heart: I’ll still keep my eye out for you. I’m so pleased the lady in Cannock managed to find some for you, phew!

After carrying 4 huge and full very heavy shopper bags, I got a black cab home, I think it would’ve tipped me over the edge (literally!) if I got a bus.

Hope you’re new knee is doing well by the way!

My knee is doing very well thank you. Had a hiccup last weekend when a drive ‘up North’ took twice as long as it should have, followed by a lot of sitting and when it came time to go upstairs to bed, I had to haul myself up by the rail.
The secret is, if it feels stiff, bend it !

Today it feels so good that a few minutes ago I wondered if, at some point, I might be able to run a little again. I had a little try in the living room but trouble is… my legs have forgotten the movements required to run so I may need to practice a few lollops until I get into the swing of it again.
I would post a video but …maybe not

Off now to tag the lovely Naz of Cannock Poundstretcher on their Facebook page… in the hope that someone will notice and go off to the warehouses of other store to see if they can find some too
