What is the best time of day to list a new item?

I’m just ready to list a new item at eight o’clock in the morning and wondered how many potential customers were seriously looking for a gift to buy at this time of the day. Which time of the day do you think catches the most activity for the newly listed section ?

An interesting question. I am quite new to Folksy and have not considered that before. I’m interested in seeing the responses here. I sell one offs, original art and historically (on the other place) I have only really made sales through social media, but a wee lift with listing at the right time would be a help.

I forgot—— the Newly Listed segment includes all the renewals, which we all have to do, I try to keep mine to three as it’s off-putting as a customer if there is page after page of the same thing when browsing although you can filter if you know what you’re after. I suppose it’s swings and roundabouts.

I suppose you need to think about who your target customer is and when they’d be most likely to be shopping online. I once listed something on a Saturday evening and it sold almost immediately because it must’ve caught someone’s eye when it was on the home page. I most regularly list things on a weekday during the day but realise that actually lots of people will be out at work at that time and then not see my items.

I don’t know the statistics timewise of when most customers are viewing folksy but on my Instagram it has been suggested that between the hours of 8 to 9 pm are the best time to put a post on (according to my analytics) for maximum viewing.

Hi there, fellow newbie here. I’m not sure if there is a specific best time as such but I like to upload all my new things on one day, and I make sure to space them during the day, e.g. put up one or two at 10am, another at 11am, then 12pm, etc. I’d guess that most buyers log on in the evening so I keep a couple drafts ready to go at that time too.
