I am a designer-maker living in Birmingham with long term mental health difficulties resulting in periods where I am unable to work.

At first I traded using the name "Zygotegifts", selling newspaper yarn crafts and am now crafting as part of a wonderful social and therapeutic crafts group, called "Arts With Hearts" which is a part of the Rape and Sexual Violence Project (Birmingham & Solihull).

I am also now making photographic greetings cards, taking inspiration from other things that have created "good news" in my journey of recovery - mindfulness, photography, nature and therapeutic horticulture.

The photographic images I use are often macro - of beauty that is in unlikely places (overgrown gardens and besides main roads) or that is easily overlooked. Some are taken of birds from my bedroom window on days when I could not leave the house. One photograph, of crocus flowers in snow was recently published in Rethink your mind's "yellow book" in 2015.
