What is the forum for?
The forum is a place to talk with fellow Folksy users, where you can discuss the site and running a shop, get advice and opinions from other sellers and makers, talk about ideas for promoting, talk about crafts in general and just to have a place to chat.
We understand that being self-employed and working from home can feel isolating, and sometimes it might feel like you’ve only had a cat or a baby to talk to all week. We want to provide a space where you can connect with other people that are in a similar situation, so you know you are not alone.
How do I contact Folksy about a problem?
Although our community is full of many knowledgeable sellers who can provide helpful advice, sometimes you might have a problem where you specifically need an answer from Folksy.
It is not best to use the forum for these queries, as the team do not check the forum as regularly as support and questions can easily be missed here.
If you have an issue with Folksy that requires an answer from the team, please email support@folksy.co.uk or use our contact form here.
What do I do if I’ve contacted support but not got a response?
Support will respond to most queries within 24 hours on working days (Monday – Friday, excluding bank holidays). If you’ve not received a response after 3 working days, please check any spam/junk folders or similar, and search for emails from support@folksy.co.uk, as unfortunately we sometimes find our responses are not seen due to spam filters.
If you’ve already thoroughly checked the folders of the address you used to contact support and still can’t find a response, send support another email to confirm you’ve not received a response yet.
What do I do if I see something listed on Folksy that’s against the rules?
If you see an item or an entire shop that you don’t think is allowed on Folksy (you can read about what is and isn’t allowed here - https://folksy.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/54524-what-can-i-sell-on-folksy) please report it using the ‘report item to Folksy’ link at the bottom of the listing page. You’ll be able to leave a comment about why you’re reporting the item which will be read by the Folksy team when they check the listing. Please clearly explain why you think the item/shop doesn’t meet our terms, and if applicable, include links (for example if you know an item is mass-produced and available from other websites, provide a link to the item elsewhere).
Please don’t discuss items or sellers you don’t think are allowed on the forum, as this is considered calling out which is against our terms.
What do I do if I see a post on the forum that’s against the rules?
If you see a post on the forum which is against our community policy, click on the three dots under the relevant post and then click on the flag icon. You will be able to select or write a reason why you think the post breaks our rules. This will flag the post to the Folksy team to review.
What are the forum rules?
Our forum rules are:
- Be welcoming, considerate and respectful
- Do not derail threads
- Do not publicly call out other sellers
- Do not promote alternative selling sites
- Do not spam
- Only post your own content
- Do not post private information
- Do not defame others
- Do not troll
- Do not post hateful, derogatory or vulgar content
You can read more about the rules here - Terms of Service - Folksy Forums
What happens if someone breaks the rules?
We will take action if the rules of our community policy are broken, including but not limited to:
- Giving a polite reminder of our rules
- Hiding posts (allowing the post to be edited to make it acceptable)
- Deleting posts
- Locking threads
- Giving a formal warning
- Temporarily suspending the user from the forum for 3 months
- Permanently suspending the user from the forum
- Suspending/blocking the user from all Folksy social spaces
- In extreme cases, a seller’s Folksy account may also be suspended indefinitely
What can I do if I don’t want to see someone’s posts?
If you find a particular user is ruining your enjoyment of the forum, but they’re not breaking the rules, we have an ‘Ignore’ feature you can use to stop seeing their content. Click to see their profile page on the forum, click the button that says ‘Normal’ and select ‘Ignored’ from the drop down menu. The user will not be notified that you’ve ignored them.
While a user is ignored, you will still be able to view threads they’ve started, but their initial post won’t show. Any replies they make in a thread will appear as a hidden reply. You’ll be able to click to view this content if you really want to see it, but this will make it easier to scroll past and ignore if you don’t want to.
