So much talent on here! I’ve been listing lots recently as my shop has been neglected for various reasons. Most of my new listings are for Valentine’s Day but here is a coaster that I have just listed that is for any occasion… https://folksy.com/items/6794968-When-Life-Throws-You-Lemons-Make-A-Gin-And-Tonic-Handmade-Coaster

A boxed Mother’s Day scroll x

Purple Heart bowl and Sycamore trinket box with Celtic Knot design
Beautifully figured bowl turned from richly coloured purple heart wood, measuring 194mm in diameter and standing 51mm tall. The bowl has been waxed and buffed to a soft shine. The unusual colouring and interesting surface pattern on this bowl (it’s a little like watered silk in some places) would make it a stand-out piece in any setting. I usually use purple heart in small quantities, such as for a Snowman’s nose (see my Christmas collection) or a trinket box finial, so this is a rare opportunity to own a larger piece in this exciting wood.

An elegantly shaped trinket box turned from sycamore (the box) and walnut (the lid) and enhanced by a Celtic knot design pyrographed on the lid. Pyrography is litererally “fire writing” and has been done by my wife with a solid point pyrography machine, which allows subtle shading. The box stands 78mm tall (complete with lid) and the lid is 88mm in diameter at its widest point. The piece has been waxed and buffed to a soft sheen. One of my wife’s first forays into Celtic art – she informs me that it is much more difficult to draw a Celtic knot than you would think, but I think her appetite for these fascinating patterns has been whetted, so we may be seeing more of them! The old romantic in me thinks this would be the perfect way of presenting “The Engagement Ring”, or maybe even as the wedding ring holder at the ceremony?
