I fill personalised advent calendars for my Mum, husband and brothers every year and try to make them as interesting as possible (not just an individual wrapped chocolate in each box). It is really tricky! Beauty minis sometimes work, occasionally I can find flower seed packets or seed balls that are small enough, but I would love more variety.
I would love to see what the talented makers on Folksy have that might be suitable. The size of each box I have to fill is about 3.5cm wide, 5cm long and 4cm tall.
I make hidden paperclips, not many in my shop atm as have them as part of cards. Due to make some more in the next few weeks. All different sizes. The go over a page and can act as a paperclip.
Maybe these cute little keyrings could work? Me and my family tend to do homemade advent calendars too! Will absolutely be checking back here for ideas
Maybe one of my little felt bookmarks - they are 5cm wide so could be rolled to fit the dimensions of your boxes - a heavy book will easily flatten them back out . Most are kids themed fabrics, but I have a few more suitable for adults.
I also have felt brooches and keyrings that might suit your mum?
Not sure if this little drawstring bag would fold up small enough or not.
(I do have a couple of other drawstring bags of the same size in different colours if you were interested. If so, just drop me a message and I will list them)
Just saw this ( not my shop nor any link with it, it just came up on the front page under one of the headings) and I thought of your advent calendar, and how sweet this would be popping up one day!! So I thought Id share it in case you hadnt seen it but thought it a possibility
