Steph - no you are not going bonkers!!! I noticed that there were a couple of additional items on the thread for last week - not quite sure how that took priority but it did - that was one reason why I posted the comment at 1pmish. Odd eh?

Hi Steph, we are staying in a titchy place opposita a haunted castle - near Hadrians Wall, Sizergh Castle and the river Tyne. Will wave :smile:

It sounds lovely Carol, no where better than Northumberland especially when the weathers good.
Hubby goes to Hadrians Wall a lot to take pics, he enjoys photography, the coast around Bamburgh is stunning! Have you been to Seahouses for fish and chips? Itā€™s known for that reason.
Alnwick and the Alnwick garden is another one of our favourite.

Hi Steph, Thanks for all the info, canā€™t wait!!! We are staying at Haltwistle. OH loves working out what to do and places to go so has been stuck in maps and online doing lots of research. We have been before but many years ago, I loved Bamburgh castle, Lindisfarne and the Holy Island - mind you OH got bitten by arctic terns - we wondered why everyone were wearing bobble hats when it was so warm lol. Will def put Seahouses on our list as you canā€™t beat fish and chips at coastā€¦Thanks again for kind thoughts.
