Folksy & Etsy?

That makes sense, thank you

@Soaringigloo this is the quiet time of year so yes not selling anything for 2 months could be normal - it depends a bit on how/ whether you are promoting your shop. One thing that might help you achieve sales is to go back and have another look at your tags - these need to replicate phrases that people might use in the search box so ideally should include a few multi word phrases rather than just single words.

I’m on both and sadly, I make a lot more sales on Etsy. However, Folksy is the better selling platform for several reasons, the fees are lower and it has a more family feel to it, and a great interface and has a second to none customer service I’m sure as time goes on it will get bigger and more popular but it needs to be pushed by each individual on here and not just Folksy. Whenever I sell on Etsy I always pop a card into the parcel with my Folksy shop address on it so that future purchases will come here and not back there. Etsy is turning into a nightmare, to be honest. It’s going the way of Ebay, where only those who pay higher rates for ads will get seen. Now they have rolled out this daft star system and everyone it stressed to hell over it. If I didn’t sell so much on there, I’d leave.

I love my folksy shop. I am trying to push people here at the moment but still have my Etsy shop as well. I was planning to reduce my items on Etsy but I do get more passing sales there. This is my only job and it has been a real struggle for the last year to get enough sales. So I decided to keep them both going for the time being as I wouldn’t manage on folksy alone. x

Thank you. No that doesn’t sound great. I’ll stick to Folksy I think

I used to think that a smaller site would be better and I love the Folksy ethos however due to low interest I have been considering this last week to sell on both. as there is a wider audience. I suppose it’s swings and roundabouts but you have to do what’s best for your business.

I love Folksy. But oddly, my sales have taken a nosedive. I also sell on E and am selling. No harm in having both. I think you need to do what you think is best. And of course you need a product people want. And maybe mine aren’t what Folksy buyers want? I just carry on and do my best.

I completely agree Tina @DaisyWings on the dark side we are being pushed under the carpet…and I much prefer it here too x
