January’s full moon rises at 17:54 on the evening of Thursday 25th January. It is often called the Wolf Moon -because in parts of the world where they live – wolves are active in January and often howl on cold nights. This name is thought to have a Celtic origin, taken to North America by North European settlers.
This full moon is also known as The Moon After Yule, the ancient winter solstice festival celebrated around 21st December.
Here is my handmade felt hanging decoration to celebrate that full January moon.
