Hi all, I’m new to folksy so opened up an instagram account this morning and I’ve now deleted it about 2.5 hours later even though I’d only spent 20 mins on there.

I flatly refuse to use social media in my life even if I end up on the streets.

I was immediately bombarded with anything and anyone I’ve no interest in.

So if I sell anything it’ll be through folksy alone.

Wish me luck.

Welcome to Folksy, with or without social media. I haven’t personally found any of them to be any good good for me, but I am rubbish at it, so I put the blame there. “Requires improvement” as they say :rofl:

It is not a secret that we need to drive our own traffic here, so if you chose to go without social media, I would like to kindly suggest that you make the most of the title, description and tags on your listings, as this might help your listings get found out if someone uses the search.

I hate social media too Darren @notmanymade . Have Facebook that I look at about once a week and attempt to use to try and promote my shop, but it is hard work as facebook decided I am a spammer for some reason and on several craft groups my posts just sit in “pending” for ever and never appear. When I queried it with them, just one of them actually responded, quite rudely, saying it wasn’t them not authorising the post, it was FB not even letting it get that far, because I was a spammer and shouldn’t post so much! Once or twice a week, sharing one item in each group each time?
Instagram , pinterest etc - all beyond me!

Thank you samazama , you know how you highlighted my not many made … I don’t know how to do that sort of thing my it is ultra basic.

I only have on a few tea light holders and have more to put one but I have made numerous other things that I will be adding probably at the weekend if all goes to plan.
