Table rates at craft fairs

I did an event last year that had 2000+ visitors and I sold one thing for £20. I agree that footfall isn’t everything, for me it has to be the right kind of event where people aren’t just browsing on a day out for something to do (and may spend a small amount of whatever cash they have on them).

I’ve come to the conclusion that most of my items just won’t be bought at events that I can afford to attend, so I either change what I do or look elsewhere (B&M shops).

I’m between Liverpool, Manchester and Preston, I do rural and city centre, £5 a day to £100+ weekends. The only sure thing is that there is no such thing! A £5 stall can have enthusiastic parishioners wanting to support their church roof fund…or people who really want to be at a car boot. A £60 event may well have a reputed organiser that you know does a good job advertising but he happened to book his event before he knew that a local football derby was on, so nobody shows up. I go by gut feeling - the right place, time, organiser, experience… and I can still get it completely wrong (but not too often!)

Was very very interesting to read this thread. Still under a smaller shock, hearing the £950/day fee. I am working full time as well next to my crafty business and that equals my monthly pay:))) ridicolus price. For that many they better provide a handsome half naked helper for each stall:))))lol
I’ve been doing a few up here in the Highlands, from range £10 to £20. This year I’ve applied to a well known market in Edinburgh for £45/stall. That would be my biggest and excitingly looking forward:D
