I’ve never really got on that well with twitter, I find it so fast moving I can’t keep up with it! I’ve linked it to my facebook page though so that it automatically tweets whatever I post on my business page, and that’s just about all I can manage!

Hi, I am new to Folksy and Twitter. I am going to try and follow as many people as poss here. However I am unsure what to tweet. Do I just press the tweet button every time I list or is that considered spam?

Hi Alex, tweeting when you list isn’t considered spam unless that’s all you tweet. To get the most out of twitter, you need to chat to people on there, retweet other’s tweets and build up a following.
I have found a few people who guest blog for me on my blog and I often get responses from when I tweet - most of my tweets are Fb posts that automatically go on twitter, but i do make sure i tweet directly on there as well.

You share your products, retweets others, follow each other etc

I used to spend quite a lot of time on Twitter, especially some of the local or craft “Hours”, but have been away for a while. This should kick me back into signing in more regularly.

Tweeting a couple of new listings a day is fine, but try to tweet / retweet other stuff too. If you use one of those robot thingies to tweet every item in your shop every hour it’s really annoying and people will unfollow you.

I scatter my item ads inbetween the rest of my tweets and RTs, and if you follow me, you’ll get quite a lot of tweets about Texas, prisons and music, so I wont be offended if you decide not to LOL

I try and keep my personal and art/business pages separate and when I am promoting my work or others or liking other artist and crafters I use FB as WaldiMint.
I do sometimes ‘share’ artists and crafters pages I find on FB to my personal page too … It’s all a bit of trial and error! I don’t want to bombard people as its a real turn off ( or I find it is) but trying to hit a happy middle. I post to FB once or twice a week … Like my FB page and we can learn from each other 
Agree social media is almost a full time occupation!
