Walk for Myton 2017

Hi everyone!

I hope that I’m not breaking any Folksy rules by posting this topic, but I just wanted to let you all know that on 14th May I shall be taking part in a sponsored walk to raise money for Myton Hospice.

This is a quite a big deal for me for several reasons. First and foremost I obviously want to raise as much money as I can for this very deserving charity, but also on a personal level, due to a number of health issues, this will be the first time in many years that I have felt well enough to take part in an event like this, and I am really looking forward to it

Any donation, however small, would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I am not a massive fan of Facebook and haven’t had an account for several years. However, I do realise that it has its benefits - one of which is promoting fund-raising events like this. So if you could share my page on Facebook so that news of the event reaches a wider audience I would be very grateful.

Many thanks,
Sue x

HI sue

Its very commendable what your doing Sue,Im sure it is ok to post this sponsored walk that you will be doing, so all the best to you and all who will take part in it. I’m pleased for you that you have the health now to do this walk, so well done.
I’ve had friends and family who have been looked after in Myton Hospice. They were looked after so well and everyone works hard to keep the Hospice in a lovely atmosphere uplifting for the patients,

I have Hashimotos disease. asthma, tachycardia to name some problems, I’ve had cancer scares, I was treated last year with liquid nitrogen for the stage before cancer sets in, I’m fine but I have to cover up and lots of sunblock.
I can be very empathetic to anyone who has on going health problems

The way I can help you Sue is to promote this worthy cause on my Instagram and spread the word.
how does one donate money Sue, let me know

All the best

Sue, yeah I’m a Sue lol,

oh by the way I love your shop and have promoted your gorgeous items

look forward to hearing from you Sue x

Hi Sue,

Thank you so much for your lovely reply.

It sounds like you’ve certainly had more than your fair share of health problems too, but thank goodness you received treatment before the cancer set in. After many years of not knowing what was wrong with me, I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year. Thankfully the medication I am now taking has helped an awful lot, and although I still have the odd day when I feel absolutely terrible, on the whole I feel really well now. I also have back problems and hip dysplacia, but can cope with these so long as I don’t try to do anything overly strenuous.

You’re right about Myton Hospice - they do a wonderful job, and everyone I know who has dealt with them has nothing but praise for them. That is why I would love to raise as much money as possible for them.

I really appreciate your offer to promote my sponsored walk on Instagram - it’s very kind of you. I don’t know anything about Instagram or how it works, but perhaps you can share the following link which will take people directly to my JustGiving page:-

Once they are on my page, there is a big red “Donate” button on the right-hand side.

Thanks also for your lovely comments about my shop  Your shop is great too - I particularly love some of your paintings.

Take care, and I wish you all the best with your health and your Folksy shop!

Thanks Sue.

It’s only a week now until I take part in the sponsored walk for Myton, so anything that helps make a wider audience aware of this very deserving charity would be greatly appreciated.
