Good morning snowdrops - feeling a bit down and disheartened with my shop at the moment - not sure why, perhaps I need a break - trouble is I think I/m addicted!
Enough negativity - today I am going out to visit Langford Lakes. My sister and I made a resolution to go at least once a month to somewhere different for a day out, its all to easy for the weekends to slip by in a haze of housework and shopping. We were going to go to the coast but changed it to somewhere local as the weather is looking a little unpredictable
Enjoy the puppy Maxine @paperchainsandbeads and I hope you all have a good weekend.
Morning Snowdrops. I feel a bit cold today but at least the wind has gone completely now although it’s still raining. Where do the weeks go to? I know people say that the time goes quicker the older you get but didn’t realise it was true.
Todays listing is Victorian styled 3 piece jewellery set.
Thanks Max - luckily Francis was very understanding too. Sorry to here you’ve hurst your back again - I had problems when both my goddaughter and nephew were babies and I was never able to pick them up. Mine has been very painful this week and I resorted to the co-codomol one night. Have followed my own advice and re-started my exercises - I was very lazy over Christmas - and jumped on my exercise bike again. Hope it improves and you’re in less pain soon😃
Thanks once again for all the good wishes. A relist from me again today. I’ve got lots of new designs but light is rubbish at the moment for photography.
I’m really, really depressed today, I had two emails through the night from paypal, saying they had reversed a payment for an article I sent in early December. They had been in touch with their bank, not me and got their money back and paypal have to honour this! The only protection I have is if I have proof of postage and tracking etc, which as it cost me 96p I very much doubt I have. Is this a new scam by the public? Ordering goods and 2 months later presumably telling their banks the item never arrived? Do I now have to get proof of postage and tracking on everything I post? As it is, today I feel so low, all that work for nothing, and no communication between the seller and me, and the 2nd time in a week a dispute has gone straight to paypal. This customer doesn’t have an account with folksy, but I wonder if it has happened to anyone else?
I remember reading about this happening with Ebay sales a few years ago when the “buyer protection” thing was publicised, I had hoped that people liking handmade would be more scrupulous.
If people pay by credit card it is very easy for them to reverse payments, this is handy if you are dealing with a dodgy seller, but awful if people abuse it.
Very rude of them not to have contacted you first- hope it wasn’t for a large amount.
I’m so sorry to hear this @SueTrevor. I haven’t had any problems on folksy but we have been messed around when selling things on ebay by some real chancers. One guy even got in touch with my husband when the pair of shorts he had bought was only one - he was expecting 2 items because it was a pair!!!
Your work is beautiful and it would be very sad to let these horrible people put you off when you have so many more happy customers (including me!). It does seem like the buyer has all the protection on their side.
Deborah @DeborahJonesJewellery so it’s not a new thing then! It was 18.96 including postage, so not a huge amount in the scheme of things! Unless say 5 people decide to do it… I think I need to think about extra protection for myself now, and get proof of postage at least for everything, it’s really quite devastating, and I will have to go to the post office and queue everytime I make a sale, which all adds up in my time. It’s the not being contacted myself which niggles with me the most I think, and makes me think they are just after a free item. So sad. @waifsmum
