Am I wrong or is Folksy very elitist, I have been trying on this site for years on and off.
My handmade style does not fit the criteria which is fine but this should be made plain to avoid such a waste of time and effort on my part, not to mention the costs involved.
I was so hopeful for a lovely unique and crafty experience
Sorry I just don’t understand what you mean, are trying to say. It’s the customers who determine what is sold on a site according to what they see which they want to buy. Folksy doesn’t curate the site content apart from removing spam, non handmade shops.

What do you mean by elitist?
I may be interpreting wrongly, but it seems to me that you feel unsupported. Am i right?
What makes you think that Folksy is elitist? I’m also not sure what criteria you think your handmade doesn’t fit with - Folksy welcomes anything thing that is handmade and your items definitely fit that criteria.
(Reading between the lines, I think you might be upset by your sales performance, at the moment your social media all points to your own website, which is fine but since your website isn’t operational you might want to redirect the links to somewhere that people can shop)

I agree with above. folksy is not elitist at all but agree how can people find your shop. Click on the Pinterest link and took me to a closed shop. That means people would look no further.

I have closed my website but my pinterest account is still active and the account is still working !!
Hello Yvonne - what the previous people mean is that we can see your Pinterest account and all the lovely pictures on there, but when we click on a pin to either find out more about that item or to see if we can buy from you, the links from each pin are pointing to your closed website.
So there’s no way I can tell from your Pinterest account that you have your shop here on Folksy.
Is there a way to change the links from your Pinterest account to your shop here on Folksy? Otherwise, it’s a bit like walking down the high street and seeing a fantastic shop window, but the doors are locked and there’s no way we can get in.

Your items are lovely, and had I known about your shop I’d have certainly purchased some of those xmas gift tags. I was looking to buy some a few weeks ago. I’d keep at it, and take the advice of what others have said about changing your website details on Pinterest to here.

I’m so sorry you’ve had a bad experience with Folksy - I really can’t understand what’s gone wrong as most of us have a really positive experience here and I think we all try to make it a safe friendly place - the very opposite of elitist. Using the forums and talk Folksy is very important and now you have used it I’m sure you’ll get lots of good tips. It does take time to learn the ropes and get working links to all social media so that everything is in place to reach customers - a lot of trial and error usually goes on before you start making sales. Getting social media like facebook and instagram right is often the key to successful shops. Good luck.

I would also mention that it looks like you’ve done OK with Christmas sales. I didn’t sell one Christmas themed thing this year - so I guess it’s all relative! I think your items fit very well with Folksy so with the advice you’ve been offered here regarding directing people to your Folksy shop you should see some improvement.

So sad that you feel unsupported. Your work is lovely and your prices very reasonable. Have you looked around at the competition to see if you are offering something suitably unique/different to others?
And I am sure some other answers about adding your Folksy shop link are relevant. I have only just rejoined Folksy after a long break and know I have a mountain to climb re listing on Pinterest etc. It all takes time. Best of luck
