My climbing rose has gone mad, only bought last year and now has 30 buds on it. will smell delicious when it blooms a David Austin rose in the palest of pinks.
DH mulched some of the borders yesterday with fresh compost yesterday had to water last night which will activate the goodness. wisteria in full bloom over the pergola. Hangs down outside the casement doors from the garden room. When open you can smell the heady scent.
Little Lord Fauntleroy has decided to make a path between the camelia and hebe, DH is going to put down some gravel to make it official for him.
Love our garden.

Yes, you just have to keep trying everyone’s ideas until you find the ones that works for you. Good luck.
You can’t beat a David Austin rose, Caroline @Caroleecrafts. They are my favorites.

I re-potted my tomato plants the other day - I’ve ended up with 30 plants! I may have underestimated how many seeds would initially grow!

I love David Austin roses @Caroleecrafts
Was busy yesterday wedding and chopping things around in the front garden. Just thought I’d share a pic of my Lilly of the Valley, it was my mum’s favourite.

Lovely pics, everyone! @DaisyWings your flowers are gorgeous, I am admiring them on Instagram, too
.
Our allotment is starting to look like a proper one. Still not sure what we are doing, but we enjoy every minute of it! We also acquired a bench for resting.
What we have so far: onions, chillies, peppers, tomatoes (they don’t look too good so it is more like trial and error) and beans. Also strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, currants.

Thank you. Some peppers died already
but I have plenty more in the window sill. I have also ordered some wildflowers for the bees and I threw some meadow seeds on a patch. We’ll see

Here in Cambridge we are still getting air frosts down the allotment (we’ve had them for the last couple of nights) - so far they have knocked back the top growth (anything over 2 inches above the soil) on my spuds and climbing beans (no cloches) and courgettes (under cloches), depending on whether they had side buds below the frost line they may or may not recover (spuds will be fine, courgettes should recover, beans I’m a little less confident about but there is time for another sowing). This might be what has hit your pepper plants.
(I built a thing for my grape vine to scramble over which has an integral bench - perfect place to sit and have a cuppa after some digging. All the wood came out of a skip.)

Yes, that’s a good point. I think the weather will get warmer from today. My tomatoes are under cloches and a few peppers. Fingers crossed

For those of you who watch Gardeners World on BBC2, Monty Don has announced that Nigel died on Monday. I for one will really miss him.
Oh so sad. I shall also miss Nigel. Running over the Doggy Rainbow Bridge. Monty did recently introduce a new addition to his show ~ I cannot remember the name.

Oh no! That is really sad news. He was such a lovely dog
Oooohhh - too early for peppers outside! Keep them on the windowsill a couple of weeks more, even if the daytime temperatures look good enough.

I already had an area for salad stuff and strawberries. I suggested planting some potatoes this year and it went from a small idea to my hubby buying a rotavoter. We now have a rather large allotment with all kinds of seeds planted plus many more growing in the greenhouse ready to plant when ready. He is busy now tilling another stretch of garden as I needed more growing area for the sweetcorn and dwarf runner beans. The strawberries are now forming fruit so can’t wait until they are ready.

Try planting garlic gloves in amongst the lettuce. My radishes haven’t been touched since doing that. I will try it with my runner beans as well. I am just using ones from the supermarket.
Amazing @beaniehats
I think Patti is the name of his new little dog, @bebbydennis so very sad about Nigel.
I’ve started taking cuttings early this year. My propagator’s bit the dust last year, so this time I’ve used grape container’s (we do eat lots of grapes
) and kitchen/loo rolls.

Thats a great idea. I will start and save mine. Your plants look really good. We are saving all bottles, cans and crisp packets as bird scarers. We are turning the crisp bags inside out to show the shiny side and putting them in the net bags tha tour oranges come in and tying them around the garden. We are hoping the noise of the bags and the shiny part will deter the birds.
We have also run out of compost so hubby found a beer garden compost making video and has one large mound nicely breaking down and is already looking like compost. It only takes 2 weeks to make so is ideal.
