Art in the Aztec empire, like its culture and religion, came from a long history - a history of many different tribes. The Aztecs thought of craftsmanship as something that was extremely valuable, viewing the creations of art as outlets that helped express their opinions - their doubts and their joys. This pendant has been a test of my hand painting skills and technique, a test that was well worth the journey.
