Needing all the luck we can get!

Arghh! GCSE’s, primary school SATs and University finals, all at the same time!!! Could life be any more stressful??? Wishing everyone going through similar angst all the luck in the world. It’s us parents that need it, not the students!

That sounds like a lot going on! It will all be over in a few weeks , then you will have the waiting for results. Hard for parents to always be the calm supportive parents we want to be.

Show them all you are there for them and thinking of them with a small gift - something like a patchwork bookmark

As I have been a full-time employee and a student at the same time many years ago, I can assure you students need good luck too!!

To show your love and thoughtfulness, slip this little heart in your kids’ pocket…the green colour is associated with tranquility and luck.

I work for the exams department at a sixth form - 2 weeks of practical assessments done, another week of practicals to go but with the added bonus of some btec module exams running at the same time (albeit in a different part of the college just to get the step count up) and then the exam season proper starts! I’ll be working minimum 10 hour days for 5 weeks with up to 257 stressed students (and a few teachers) at the same time! Please, please, please on behalf of all the exams staff out there make sure your kids have a black pen, see through pencil case and know which room their exam is being held in!!!

I’m doing a Masters at the moment, finished my BA last year. I did A Levels 11 years ago now and I’d rather do both my degrees again, at the same time, standing on my head, than I would do A Levels again. And there is no way they’ve gotten more straightforward or become lower stakes since 2014. Sending ALL the good wishes to the A Level teens! And to everyone who has to be around them over the next 6 weeks haha.

Hang in there Sasha - the summer holidays are the light at the end of the tunnel if you can just survive that long…!

You made me smile this morning Sasha @SashaGarrett as I remembered your comment here when I was reminding my daughter to empty her blazer pockets of everything except her clear pencil case containing black pens and her exam schedule with room and seat numbers on it. She’s my youngest and I’ve been through exam season twice before but it feels so much more stressful this time around. Maybe as it’s the last GCSE season? I feel like I did nothing but wander round the house between 9 and 11 this morning while she was in her English exam.
I really feel for you and everyone working with students through exams. The hubster works as an investigator for an exam board and is already feeling the pressure and he’s not hit his busiest time yet.
Coffee and cake will get everyone through to the other side and in the case of my daughter mint choc chip ice cream by the bucket load!
