Our heatwave and dry spell finally broke yesterday (for all of an hour or so), so to celebrate I am just popping out to the garden for some much needed digging.
However, I thought a new thread on all things rainy might be fun so let’s see what the rain has done to inspire us creatively in the past!! Starting off with my two Rainy day favourites:
Hello Heidi lovely to meet a fellow Folksyer face to face and I hope it was a good fair for you, in spite of the temperature.
Don’t show the Dancing in the Rain card to my son, he will say that’s me in a couple of years. Huh what he doesn’t know is I do that now😀 Love your work. Joy
Hi Joy - it was fab to meet you too! Fair was good especially in view of the temperatures. So glad we had rain last night (and a dribble this morning too yay!). It’s made a big difference in temperatures now!!
We had some pretty heavy rain on the west coast of Scotland last night combined with spectacular lightning in the early hours. The plants are very grateful!
I’ve tried to cover all types of weather with this one but what it doesn’t show is the howling chilly gale down the side of the house. Means I’m going to have to keep the garage door shut when I get up there as otherwise it will be off its hinges in a second. May, or may not (!), get promised rain later.
Update. When I got up it was forecast to rain at 12. Then that became 2pm and now 3pm.
If it actually rains today I may just eat the stained glass window I’m working on and can probably say that quite safely.
As I’ve often thought before, our weather forecasting service is not fit for purpose apart from warning us that rain falling onto dry ground might not manage to soak into it or that thunderstorms can sometimes be a bit scary.
Ha ha - I hope the rain stopped for long enough to get back to the house!! The temperature has now dropped to a much more pleasant warmth - time to get into the garden again!!
