A water based polyurethane varnish is the one I generally go with. I normally get it my local diy store (b&q or homebase type places are good), you can get gloss, satin or matt depending what look you’re after and it’s good over acrylics.

Oops! Looks like I’m featuring this one again, but it is a favourite of mine and very spring-like being a symbol of love (heartsease/violet) and also Amethyst the February birthstone.
