Hahaha Yeah there’s quite a lot. Haha I’m sticking with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest. I feel that covers enough of a range of people.
I tried Google+ and couldn’t get away with it.

I want to enjoy it too to be honest. I feel adding even more in would mean I don’t really have time to juggle them all properly and I’d just end up getting annoyed.

Yeah I agree!! Having just signed up to Instagram that’s the same four I have. I must admit I do love Pintrest and can lose myself for hours in there. Probably not very productive but fun. I can see Instagram going the same way!!! I think I could learn to love fb especially since I understand it a bit better now :+1: but I’m still not convinced about twitter, however I’ll stick with it!! And by the way, I have just added your jellyfish to my jellyfish Pintrest board!!! Don’t ask!! xx

Yeah- I get lost in Pinterest too. And made the silly mistake of introducing my husband to it- (he’s into surfboards/bikes/cars etc) on the plus side- I’ve told him he can now easily look at my boards for gift ideas. Hahaha :stuck_out_tongue:

I love Instagram though- I find the community really great. I follow all sorts of people for all sorts of reasons and I think it’s great.

Getting quite bored of Facebook now I guess.

And a jellyfish board is very specific… Hahaha

Well I’ve just joined Instagram and having a play. I’m sure the first couple of pictures I put on I was asked for tags, now it doesn’t seem to, nor can I find any way to get back to them. It is possible it’s something I dreamt but…???

Tags on Instagram? You just use hashtags to ‘tag’ things. So after you’ve put your photo on and wrote whatever you want to write you might then do stuff like #handmade and # whatever else you want to ‘tag’. So then it means when people use the search function and search one of the words you have tagged- your post will come up.
Also- if you forget a few things and want to add them on you can just edit the post and add them in.
Does that help?

So it was something I dreamt!! That’s really bugging me now, something I was on that wasn’t Folksy was asking for tags. I guess it’s official, social media overload…I have lost it!!! Cheers Susannah. x

Great points everyone. Yes it has become necessary to promote your products to top social networks to increase your social reach.

Outfy helps online sellers to maintain their social media presence on top 10 networks. Save huge amount of time resulting in traffic and sales.

Hooray, after having a bit of a push this week I have picked up 18 new page likes and finally got my insights up and running. I have 38 followers in total and my page reach at the moment is 601 - is that good or bad!!!

Thought I’d resurrect this thread and see how everyone is getting on. I have now managed to get my page likes up to 106!! I have just done a promo with British Crafters which did direct some traffic to my shop and gained a fair bit of interest on twitter but for getting your facebook page seen I have found HMUK ( https://www.facebook.com/handmadeintheuk.home ) a brilliant promotion page too. You can join in for free or do paid promotion. I have also been posting on some of the groups like the folksy group on facebook. Then there are also a couple of good twitter promos https://twitter.com/HandmadeHour and https://twitter.com/Craft_Hour both of these run live hours where you can post your makes and I have gained a lot of new followers on there.
So how is everyone else getting on, what have you found works, and what doesn’t?

If anyone is online this afternoon with less than 500 likes on their facebook page pop over to HMUK (Handmade in the UK) https://www.facebook.com/handmadeintheuk.home/?fref=nf and leave a link to your page. Lots of people look there and you might get a share later which usually helps a lot.
