I was just wondering what unusual items you have in your shops - perhaps they are a little different to your usual makes or incorporate unusual materials or fabrics perhaps. Let us all have a look and enjoy them. They would make fantastic and unique gifts, don’t forget!
I will start it off…
I have been working on a range of jewellery, inspired by ancient cultures and civilisations. I have created this necklace which incorporates a carved rams head in jasper - quite different for me…
Great idea for a thread Jacqueline! The only slightly unusual thing I have in my shop are these pin cushions, made using a couple of upcycled china trinket pots and some hand-dyed cotton fabric.
I like to make soldered items, so I have made hanging decorations which you can add your own sentiment too, these can b used as an alternative to a birthday card.
I had to think hard about this as I paint all sorts of subjects…if you define unusual as something that you probably won’t come across anywhere else then I guess this mini painting of a hair card product is my most unusual item
This little hand knitted nest is the most unusual item in my shop! Although I’ve called it an Easter nest, it could be used for jewellery, or change. I think it’s cute!
Tricky… a lot of my items are not very “usual”, as I make hand bound books and each is different, with my own quirks and style…
Perhaps this is the most unusual at the moment:
Being as I’m all mosaics, this wirework and paint bird box was something a bit different for me to do (I actually made a few of them in the end but the rest are sold) -
I like to think that all my pieces are different in that no two are the same and I try out new designs all the time. Having said that, I’ve always had a liking for my ruffle bracelets, which were some of the very first things I listed; I’ve never seen anything like them, anywhere else.
Jacqueline I do like your ram’s head necklace and there are many other interesting things in this thread (will all be liked and pinned on my Pinterest board). I feel that it’s the eclectic nature of the items sold on Folksy which give it a unique selling point. I always tell people it’s a great place to find OOAK items you just can’t get elsewhere!
