Hello, beautiful artwork :purple_heart:

I’ve sorta been taking part in a spooky art challenge on Insta, first one I’ve attempted. The first prompt is “undead”… And so I had the idea of a Ban-shroom-Shee wailing… Which naturally made me think of Evard Munch’s The Scream…

@Bythecrookofmyhook That sounds like a fun challenge! And a lovely painting to go with it.

Thank you @konyskiw I’ve not long picked up the paint brushes after a long break, and I’m really enjoying painting again.

I had a month of absolutely no painting, but now I’m working on a 4 piece commission, this is just the edges (I can’t stand blank edges on a stretched canvas)

Kim…that is interesting because I never know whether to paint the edges or not…I usually carry the landscapes around the edges ( that is probably because I am hopeless at getting neat straight lines…lol…)
today I have a hand painted card

A Puffin, watercolour. Great work everyone, keep it coming :+1:

@teabreaks Oh yes, I’m a messy painter so I’d never get a neat blank edge by just not painting it, I’d have to go over all the bits where my brush accidentally went over. It does add a bit of time (especially on deep canvases) but I think it looks more complete.

Not something you should have to worry about much with all the watercolours though.

love it Graham…yes, Please keep showing your work folks…I need help to keep the thread running…so jump in and show your work x

Kim. @konyskiw …I am the messiest of painters…especially with acrylics…I DO TRY to use them as often as I can but I get paint everywhere and have this need to keep dipping my brush in water when it isn’t needed…
I seem to cope better with watercolours but I do try to do both when I can…
The next thing I would like to master is abstracts. I have done a few but I am not very good at them…
I am hopeless at buildings or anything with straight lines…

this is my favourite watercolour painting

I have been doing a miniature for an ATC swap. It is in coloured pencil which is a challenge keeping the pencils sharp enough to get the detail.

Hi Chris,

I’m relatively new to Folksy and was wondering what an ATC swap is?
Btw love the drawing.

Hi Ivon
It’s an Artist Trading Card. They are miniature works of art, 2 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches. I think the idea is that you swap them. It’s just a bit of fun really. I did this with the UK Coloured Pencil Society and got a lovely coal tit picture in exchange.
