Lovely work everyone.
I took another venture into the world of ACEOs (after having previously been encouraged by Brenda @teabreaks). This one sold within minutes yesterday.
Nor would i, how do you do it? Nice one.
Thanks, to be fair that doesn’t happen often. This went to a customer who has taken several fox/stag paintings from me in the past, she saw this on my Facebook page and messaged me before I’d even put it up for sale, I’m happy to use Folksy as the fees are low and it supports the platform, even though she works with my wife and only lives down the road! Popped around last night for a cuppa and to collect. Coincidentally, she just sent an image of it framed.
So, build up a Social Media following, let existing customers see your work first and they get first refusal, plus a bit of discount.
Anyone shipping overseas? Are you experiencing problems?
I sent a painting to Canada in early June, only arrived yesterday, if I’m honest I didn’t think we’d see that again, I’d wrote it off and was preparing to refund the customer. It left the UK and got to Canada in six days, then just disappeared in their postal system and then turned up unscathed.
Fortunately the customer was very understanding and had the tracking number. She loves her painting and has commissioned another. All good in the end but I was sweating for a while
I used to ship overseas - just the odd one to USA now and again- but stopped because of likely problems arisung from the pandemic. I’m in no rush to start up again. I’m not sure the potential hassle is worth it.
Yessss! Can see the lovely sparkle here Brenda! x
I shipped something to the US mid June and luckily it only took 2 weeks. The painting had been finished for a few weeks but the buyer wanted to wait a little to give things chance to settle down before I sent it (just glad she bought before the prices went up… still need to update mine).
I’ve heard Royal Mail have extended the times before something is considered lost though because things have slowed down so much, so where I’d normally wait 3 weeks before starting to get concerned, I’d probably give it 6 now. It’s great your buyer came back for another, even after the long wait!
Here’s a commission I finished today (still got another half complete for the same people)
