I made this picture originally for a greetings card design, although when it was complete, I realised I was making many of my figures facing to the left, so when I had the card printed up, I flipped the design so the little girl faces to the right in the prints and cards!
There are elements of this picture that I really love, such as the swan and trees on the far riverbank; and also the colours of the river, which I made from my own hand dyed fabric. I’d like to make another similar in due course, maybe without the figure and have more plantlife in the foreground, and also maybe have the water very still, so that I can add some reflections in the water, which I think would work really well.
Evening all. Thought I’d join the thread, as I’ve just reopened my shop after a few years away and wasn’t very brave with forums before… So many lovely paintings, very inspiring, wish I had more hours in the day to explore!. I need to get some more art listed and i"m toying with the idea of this one… as you can see, my art is very child-friendly!
Thanks Brenda, Mr Fox didnt stick around long, off to his new home tomorrow.
Watching the snow fall outside this morning I found some inspiration to do this painting. Cold Farm, A4 watercolour.
Love your work Graham and your colour palette as well…Hate snow though and fortunately we haven’t had any this winter…yet…Looks nice in a painting though.
Lovely work, everyone. GKWatercolourArt, the fox is beautiful.
Soobaloo - I love that style! (And now I want Battenburg cake!!!)
This is the cover from my bunny poems book - I did the illustrations in pen, and they were fun to do for a change. I’m planning on doing some more in this style, as they seem popular with my audience

Lismore Lighthouse, Western Scotland. A3 watercolour.
Ref my wife’s photo taken last year- we were heading towards the Isle of Mull on the ferry out of Oban, the sky was just starting to clear following a quick storm. The light was breaking through but it was still dark enough for the distant hills to blend into the clouds.
waving to Jan and Graham…great work…always welcome here Jan.

I hope that the sales soon start to roll in for you
