HI everyone - sorry to have missed most of yesterday. The trip to the toy shop went quite well in the end. My lovely niece came with me (strength in numbers) and we managed to get the things I had hoped to find for Erin. Reece carried round a Science set for the entire time we were at the shop. I did have to remind him we were there for Erins birthday, not his. Reluctantly he put it back. Cameron, the eldest found a cuddly toy he fell in love with. He tried to convince me it was £2 but it was £20, he too had to put it back. All was well in the end, as they came out with a few sweets each instead. I didn’t make it back on here - sorry - as I then took them all to the park, then the allotment. Got soaked, but is was warm rain, so was rather nice! A huge crop of early apples, some Victoria plums - I think most will need another week or so, some raspberries and some blackberries. So back on here to find some lovely feedback from a non Folksy Seller customer. Great stuff! Not a sale, but still very nice to receive thank you x
I have some more items that need some love. Thank you all so much for your support - you are the best xx
Thanks Maxine - although I did marketing at university, that was 20 years ago and before ‘the digital age’. As I have the - rather grand and over stated - title of marketing director for the photography business I’ve taken over all the social media for that as well as for SilverTree. A friend is giving us one-on-one marketing coaching and he also recommended a platform for managing all the social media accounts - called Evergreen - so I think when 2 people give you the same advice it’s time to listen
Thanks too for the hint about searching using the #newonfolksy term - I used that earlier and it really worked. I’ve only been using Twitter for about 10 days and I’ve already stopped following someone as she was flooding the feed with nonsense. I think I just need to be a bit more savvy.
Just back from a few hectic days of minding the grandchildren. The house is like an oven! My shop is open again but have friends coming for the weekend and need to do a shopping trip, so no chance of making anything new. Here’s a relist of some copper earrings which have just been added to my Sale items. Back to finish reading and clicking later on when it’s cooler.
Good news: My Dremel tool arrived today (present from my Mum)
Bad news: Instructions are all in pictures, so I can’t understand them. Thank goodness for youtube!
Dawn @hobbitgirlie1880 - I hope you got your pay sorted
Karen @silvertreejewellerydesign - I have used Hootsuite before for twitter and Facebook - still couldn’t work out what I was doing though!
Well done on the toy shop outing Jacqueline @JAustenJewelleryDesign - I remember when I used to take my two it always cost me an arm and a leg. I was just too easily manipulated!
Love the mannikin @beaniehats
Well I had all sorts of good intentions for today but got hijacked by my sister! She has a large barn at the end of her garden which had become a bit of a dumping ground so today we emptied it and put things back tidily. Then we went to do a bit of shopping and went to visit my Dad as my stepmother has gone away for the weekend and asked us to look in on him. Before we knew it the day had slipped past and I havent done any photographs - not sure I can really be bothered now but maybe after a little rest I might just get round to it. My niece is coming home this evening along with several friends for a wedding so I have said she can stay in my spare room as her friends will probably be filling the rooms in my sisters house.
Not too sure whats on the cards for tomorrow yet. For the moment heres a re list
I have a sale to report please Max @paperchainsandbeads
Yesterday was eventful. Car broke down on the way to the hospital. RAC luckily recovered me, dropped car at garage then me at the hospital just in time for me to have a re-arranged slot in the surgery list. The nerve ablations went to plan, just a bit sore today. Should be able to tell in a few days if it has worked like steroid injections do. Fingers crossed for 12 killed off medial nerves
Get sent home via patient transport ambulance as the nurses refused to let me get the bus home. Car is happy today, now she has a new alternator
Lisa @sweetpyroangel what a bad time for the car to break down - glad you made it in time for your surgery. Hope it’s been successful.
I had a very early start to the day - the penny dropped yesterday that the person who was meant to be doing a lot of the work needed on the house that I’m getting ready to rent had let me down and wouldn’t be doing what is needed. So a poor night’s sleep. But today the letting agents recommended a company who came out at 11am and will be able to get the work done quickly for us. Awaiting the quote and hoping it’s reasonable but feeling very relieved. We go away soon and I really want the place pretty much ready by the time we go. I think this is going to be a steep learning curve!
Re twitter, i use round team to re-tweet for me. You can set it up to re-tweet mentions, certain people, hashtags etc. I have mine to set up to re-tweet #newonfolksy but It will only pick up the people I follow (which I think is most of you)
I use hootsuite to schedule my tweets and I schedule a load at a time (a few weeks worth) It’s very rare I actually log on to twitter yet my account is always active.
Good morning Amigos, just jumping in quickly before little one gets up as I probably won’t have any time later she’s full of beans this weekend lol! happy dancing for your sales Lisa @sweetpyroangel and Anita @beaniehats, are you still okay for next month Anita? if not no problem just let me know and I’ll start the interest thread
Good Saturday morning to you Amigos. We are heading off in a minute to investigate wood burning stoves, so just adding my listing and I’ll be back later to see what’s going on and catch up.
